Thanks Rob Finally, the Whirlwind pushed me over the edge and for a few seconds, I couldn't help myself - just too many months of struggling and frustrations. For me, it's a hobby to relax with and find enjoyment in and when that's long gone and all I have been through the past few years, struggling with a model kit, isn't worth the time or effort. Literally life is too short and no reason keep struggling and literally having no fun at the bench. I've learned from the experience and am moving on: The P-40 is now underway -

Phil I'm with you and spend time at the end of each session cleaning and straightening up. I just feel better when it's time to hit the bench running, that almost everything is neat, clean and in its place. My big 'wall' is putting a part down and then in the next minute or so, I can't find it - loads of senior moments these days. -

I'm tinkering and motivating and going to sit at the bench and see if the juices will flow and the mojo kindle. I've been tinkering with the Big Allison V-1710-30 first as my Quinta Detail Set hasn't arrived yet. I have my suspicions on the color callouts for the Allison V-12 and will go with my reference photos. As with all WWII aircraft, engine restorations are in their own color world, so I'm going with what I have and should look the part. With any luck and a lot of motivation from Lady Luck I just might have a real starting update early next week. Fingers crossed 🤞 -

Gaz Great John Wahn movie and a s kid growing up, it was always at the top of my list. I've seen it so many times, I have the lines almost memorized -

Thanks John It happens and I just didn't see it coming as I managed to square away all the other obstacles. For lesson learned and I'm sticking to the type of kit I enjoy and if it looks like a fight right from the start, at my age, might just be better to move on right there and then and build a kit I find satisfying and rewarding without the need to keep banging my head against the wall. -

Phil I'm calming down and fell the juices starting to flow. I've been reading the instructions for the P-40 and am going to try and make a start with the engine, as my Quinta Studio Decal set hasn't arrived yet. Hopefully, I'll be back in the saddle this weekend. -

Phil Looking so good and even short work sessions are better then known. MY problem is not knowing where I left off from the previous work session but where I just put down the part, I'm working on ... loads of senior moments -

Kev Nice going and the RE.2005 looks mighty good glues up. Seams and gaps - oh what fun but in the last overhead photo, the wing roots look just about perfect. . -
Bill Nice work on the IP. She sure looks good up on her legs and the engine installed. I bought my Waldron Punch set over 50 years ago, still have it and still use it. Except for a few Xacto tools, the punch set was my first real tool - geez, where did all those years go?

Scott Terrific paint work - looking smooth and glossy. I've found when I need a gloss finish, I go to the champ: Mr Color thinned 50/50 with their Self Leveling Thinners. Comes out smooth as silk. When I built my Embraer 190 for the last GB, I used Mr Color Gloss White and decaled right on top - super smooth and no wet sanding or polishing needed, -

Thanks Mike - right there with you I should have been smart enough to accept the fact that when the fun and enjoyment left the party, I should have packed it in. Same here, way too many serious issues to deal with, the Whirlwind was just a bad choice. I'm moving on with the P-40 when the juices start to flow and the modeling mojo is back - hopefully sooner then later.
