  1. Gus I know .. it really is weird. Did a bit more detail air brush work late last night and tested out thinning Model Air Nato Black with Ammo by MIG Thinner. Using a .2 Air Brush, I needed the paint on the thin side ... well you guessed it: GOO CITY! Not understanding the actual differences between the two acrylics: Mig and Model Air and spending a lot of time cleaning out all the goo from the AB, I'm now dedicating one airbrush for just using Model Air, thinning with it's own thinner and cleaning the AB with Vallejo Air Brush Cleaner. While Vallejo's color range is second to none, the inconvenience of using the wrong thinner when not thinking what I'm doing or in an air brush that isn't perfectly clean, has kept me from using the paint for much more then brush painting. 5. Nick Terrific progress on the P-40 and I to appreciate the tips and techniques, as I'm always looking to keep learning and improving my modeling abilities an skills. Totally agree, this is a hobby and stressing out over a kit for whatever reason is counter intuitive to what any hobby is supposed to be. Keep 'em comin Peter
  6. Guys Thanks so much for your thoughts and prayers, as it meant so much to Diane and I. Keep 'em comin Peter
  7. John Finger crossed for sure - a bit extra never hurts. I do love it when kits includes a molded nose weight so not only is the guess work removed but there aren't any surprise fit and where to put the weight issues. Rob's procedure seems full proof and mine is similar as well: I use plastic rod or toothpicks in place of the gear legs, to test for balance and then add a bit more weight to be on the safe side. 8. Completely agree ... about poorly engineered kits, at least by today's standards are mojo killers. Nice work on the CCA fix. Nothing like a Tamiya kit, no matter what the scale and well worth the extra cost in my book. Keep 'em comin Peter
  9. Kai Seems the Mirage has a mind of her own and isn't going to give up the fight so easily But it seems lady Luck is on your side and having another III kit and the all important replacement canopy was like the 7th Cavalry coming to the rescue. The new canopy fit looks so much better and nice work correting the shape of the parachute housing. Keep 'em comin Peter

  16. Gaz Looking so good and as with Kai, much appreciate the tutorial Keep 'em comin Peter
  17. Gus Looking smooth as silk and oh so good. Pure acrylics do not like most thinners other then their own. Another example is Model Air ... use Mr Surfacer Self Leveling Thinner or even Tamiya thinners, turn Model Air into goo as well. But yet, I've thinned MIG acrylics(which are pure acrylics) with Mr Surfacer Self Leveling Thinners and the results were perfect. Go figure. Keep 'em comin Peter
  18. Jeroen The Final Inventory looks fantastic Keep 'em comin Peter
  19. Ron G Yikes, awesome detailing ... fantastic work. Keep 'em comin Peter
  20. Hubert You hit it right on the money. Hopefully, they will turn the corner and look at 'Quality" as the most important part of a kit. Keep 'em comin Peter

  24. Rob You hit it right on the head. Keep 'em comin Peter
  25. Dennis Seems to just be a tough kit due to how it was engineered, poor instructions and molded in general. If KH would have put more effort into quality, the build issues would never have been included in the box. Keep 'em comin Peter
