Jeroen Sorry to see the HGW Rivets didn't work but you were able to save the day with the good old fashioned way of riveting. Have you tried the Archer Rivet System and what's you take on them? From what I've read and seem, they seem to work rather well. Keep 'em comin Peter -

Gus Much appreciated .. wonderful doctors and my wife who was constantly by my side. Hopefully I'll be staying on the path for a full recovery and taking care of the dental situation as well. Cleaning out the air brush was a royal pain and I should have tested the MIG Thinner before trying to shoot it but now I know and extra care is surely needed. Keep 'em comin Peter -

Kai Looking so good and fingers crossed your Mirage will be in the paint shop tonight for her black primer. My Mirage and resin sets still sit in the stash unopened as I would never have the patience and rock steady nerves to complete the kit. Keep 'em comin Peter- 719 replies

I received this email from Chris Decker (not sure why as I am not a customer) regarding the reopening of the Squadron Shop: ... Hello fellow modelers! We are excited to announce that squadron.com will be returning, under new ownership and management! Squadron will be back!!! As most of you know, MMD-Squadron Holdings, LLC (The parent company of squadron.com and Military Model Distributors) filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy earlier this year. After 53 years of providing a place for modelers around the world to purchase their new and most favorite models and supplies, the end looked like it was upon us. This was a travesty we could not let happen!Knot Models is a hobby merchandiser founded in 2016 that primarily does business in the Amazon Marketplace. Knot Models was founded by Chris Decker, a 20 year industry veteran who has built up and sold both hobby retailers and manufacturing companies over the years. Some of you might be familiar with Trident Hobbies, which became FreeTimeHobbies.com, and the model lines, Midship Models and Yankee Modelworks. Chris founded or was instrumental in bringing these lines to the marketplace. In April of 2021, Knot Models purchased the business assets of MMD-Squadron holdings from the bankruptcy court in Texas. We have been working tirelessly since then to rebuild and replace the systems that squadron.com needs to operate. We have also been working to source inventory from manufacturers and distributors around the world. Our goal is to relaunch squadron.com in early June of 2021 with over 15,000 products available for you to purchase! As we get closer to our launch date and have more details, we will be sending out more information. We are excited and eager to join you in this new chapter of Squadron.com! Until then, Happy Modeling! Chris Decker www.squadron.com ... ‌

Atlas Cheetah E Scaleworx Conversion
Peterpools replied to GusMac's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Gus I know .. it really is weird. Did a bit more detail air brush work late last night and tested out thinning Model Air Nato Black with Ammo by MIG Thinner. Using a .2 Air Brush, I needed the paint on the thin side ... well you guessed it: GOO CITY! Not understanding the actual differences between the two acrylics: Mig and Model Air and spending a lot of time cleaning out all the goo from the AB, I'm now dedicating one airbrush for just using Model Air, thinning with it's own thinner and cleaning the AB with Vallejo Air Brush Cleaner. While Vallejo's color range is second to none, the inconvenience of using the wrong thinner when not thinking what I'm doing or in an air brush that isn't perfectly clean, has kept me from using the paint for much more then brush painting. Nick Terrific progress on the P-40 and I to appreciate the tips and techniques, as I'm always looking to keep learning and improving my modeling abilities an skills. Totally agree, this is a hobby and stressing out over a kit for whatever reason is counter intuitive to what any hobby is supposed to be. Keep 'em comin Peter

John Finger crossed for sure - a bit extra never hurts. I do love it when kits includes a molded nose weight so not only is the guess work removed but there aren't any surprise fit and where to put the weight issues. Rob's procedure seems full proof and mine is similar as well: I use plastic rod or toothpicks in place of the gear legs, to test for balance and then add a bit more weight to be on the safe side. Israeli Mirage III C with Atar9C
Peterpools replied to Kaireckstadt's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Kai Seems the Mirage has a mind of her own and isn't going to give up the fight so easily But it seems lady Luck is on your side and having another III kit and the all important replacement canopy was like the 7th Cavalry coming to the rescue. The new canopy fit looks so much better and nice work correting the shape of the parachute housing. Keep 'em comin Peter- 719 replies
