  1. John Awesome progress and nice to see a T-28 that you didn't need to jump through hoops to correct molding errors. Looking mighty good
  2. Peter OMG, just incredible detail and workmanship. There is a new 32nd scale Sea Fury coming our way and when it becomes available, I absolutely buy a kit and dig into the build. Of course, your build will easily be my guide and research.
  3. Ernie History in action. Will be following with intense interest. Mike certainly did a brilliant job; first class modeling.
  4. Thanks Chris My plans are to apply the Vallejo Metallics as I do Alclads and the Gloss Black undercoat (I apply it over any primer or painted surface) and these days has been MRP Super Gloss Black Work's like a charm. I'm halfway through painting the Tomcat and the last major step will be masking out all the leading edges for the metal finish and then a build thread update. So far, there have been a few changes in my painting plan, namely the whites but I'll get into that in the update.
  5. Chris When my old compressor bought the farm with a hole in the tank, I bought the same Sparmax set up as Rob's and it's been awesome. Highly recommended. Agreed it won't last 43 years but I'm guessing at 76, neither will I.
  6. Scott Fantastic news just couldn't be any better. Our thoughts and prayers along with family and friends surely helped. πŸ†
  7. Just read Ernie's post on Harv this morning and it was horrible news but after reading Tims post and the confirmation Harv is awake and talking up a storm - just wonderful and what an Easter present for us all.
  8. Ernie WOW, can't wait to see a build thread as this is actually model history in action.
  9. Carl So glad the F-35 finally is at it's new home thanks to your sister.
  10. Scott Completely agree, Revell just seems to put parts everywhere on their sprues, not in numerical order and it's always a hunt to find them.
  11. Phil Nice 'haul' for sure. Looking forward to the Arma Hurricane future build and seeing AK now sells their Extra Thin in a can at a reasonable price, wow - sure wish Tamiya would do the same.
  12. Chris It's always something for sure. Now the compressor tank developed a hole, a new compressor is on order and the stabilators are missing. Hopefully Carl has a spare set for you and if you need Tamiya customer service, I used them at least a half dozen times and never disappointed - awesome customer service. Easiest way just used the website. Nice repair on the gatling gun over vent. Looks mighty good.🀞
  13. Rob Always a huge plus to have a secondary plan to fall back on.
  14. Mark Looking mighty good for sure.
  15. Dave. right with you.
  16. Carl Way to good. Now that's the perfect bench and work environment. , it's beautiful. Of course, the key and hard part is keeping it looking like that.
  17. Scott Some mighty nice sea going weathering. Surely replicates all the photographs I have of operational Tomcats.πŸ† I'm always going the opposite way of a almost freshly painted aircraft/museum finish for my collection.
  18. Scott Bravo - the paint looks super smooth and sure an acre or more of real estate to cover.
  19. Chris Very much appreciated. I'm positive your stencils will come out the equal of mine. The whole key to adding all the stencils, especially Tamiya decals (not sure how old the ones in your kit are, as their newer kits, the decals have improved 100%) is to have a super glossy finish prior to slowly adding them - of course, it's going to take a good few days plus, just take your time. After the decals have set up and dried, I re-gloss them to seal the decals plus blend in the carrier fil. Then I go with my final clear of semi gloss or semi mat, just not a flat finish. Being 32nd scale, it should hopefully be less strain on the eyes . I'm pretty sure I'll be adding a good 100 or so more stencils to the Big Cat and then I'll be stenciled out for sure.
  20. Scott, Thanks so much and I'm sure your loadouts will be the equal or better then mine.
  21. Gus Primer - looking mighty good and only a few small spots to that need a bit of filling - awesome work for sure.
  22. Dave I've been using Flory washes for years and love them. Best advice is to use them over a glossy surface, so you can remove as much of the wash as you want. Semi mat and mat finishes and a lot of the wash remains on the surface for a weathered look, which seems the way you're using it. My favorite color is Dark Brown or Dirt.
  23. Kev No problem at all, just seems these days, even us old and retired folks have so little free time; It use to be working and making a living filled our days, it's doctor appointments and procedures and much needed naps. πŸ˜‰
  24. John Terrific work on the office ... looks mighty good. John
