A book originally published in 1961 by Shirer who reported in Germany up to the outbreak and then covered Nurember. He apparently then had access to state files.and diaries………I read it probably 40 years ago…….so here goes again….

Peter, wow….flawless as ever……great start and almost John’s speed of building. I’m similar to Rob, only ever built one Spit in my life, Airfix 1/24. Very badly I may add was in my teens…….so it’s about time to remedy that……

I think I’m happy with the priming? The wing roots were a PITA……. The gunbay covers are PE so just blue tacked in position….. -

Mark, I know your pain, all three of our cats are now hunting in the big sky. Unfortunately all three went the same way as your Min. We have now decided no more furry friends, the pain is just to much when they go…….thoughts are with you….

Battle of Britain Memorial Flight has a C47, here is her history…… BBMF Dakota ZA947 was constructed as a C-47A by Douglas at Long Beach, California, USA, in 1942. It was delivered to the USAAF on 7th September 1942, 75 years ago this month. A little over a week later, on 16th September, it was transferred under the Lend-Lease agreement to the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF), re-designated as a Dakota III and allocated the RCAF serial number ‘661’. During the Second World War Dakota ‘661’ served entirely in Canada.

Bomber_County replied to Bomber_County's topic in LSM Work In Progress
Thanks Gus and Harv, I think I’ll wait until the relative dies back a little before contemplating another Trumpeter large scale kit. Weather looking good for some booth action whilst listening to the 2nd Test Match……………Test match, a game that could take up to 5 days to complete and then end in a draw……..love it…… -
Coming on a treat John, agree with Dennis about seeing one of these built. Surely they didn’t strip the cockpit just to sell an AM set. Probably bring disingenuous……looking forward to the next instalment….
