  1. Thanks Hubert, it was a bit of a dash I must admit…….
  2. Scott, thank you much appreciated…..
  3. All, I made it by the skin of my teeth, was a little concerned about the site upgrade but all is well. The Elco was an eBay purchase for around 2/3 cost of actual. It also came with a full crew complement, I may get around to these at at later date. My figure painting needs a lot of work in any case. The kit itself has 370 parts in light grey plastic, 87 etched parts in 0.4mm metal, 2 metal barrels for the Bofors and M4 guns plus a clear sheet for the many small windows and lengths of twine, wire, a small mesh sheet and screws to hold the deck in place. Added to this is the decal sheet and a 32 page instruction sheet all in a massive box measuring 725mm x 460mm x 105mm, something to take into account if ordering by mail. This was my first Italeri which was a little of an eye opener. The fit was overall good but very part had a parting line on it that was slightly imperfect and out of alignment. Therefore every part had to be scraped, filed and filled as required. I’ve attempted to add some detail where appropriate, as a base if you wanted to super detail the hell out of it, it’s a good canvas. I’ve seen several of these adapted for RC which would be a lot of fun. I added the spring mechanism in the M4 and all sorts of crazy stuff, wiring the mast, adding a full cockpit layout etc, it was great fun and could have done carried on indefinitely. A totally enjoyable build and refined some scratch building skills. Well recommend this kit and build, you have to have one big boat on the shelf……….. I found a new setting on my iPhone which came out a lot better than my attempts to use my DSLR, hope they are up to standard. Build log……..
  4. The behemoth is complete, just posting to Ready for Inspection…….
  5. Thanks to all the admins, looking great……..
  6. Thanks Maru, I’ve been this about the Harrier from Kinetic for awhile….
  7. Absolutely stunning, I reckon it’s time I retired from this hobby, the quality of your builds are unbelievable……
  8. Absolutely stunning, the build and weathering our amazing, congrats….
  9. Clears throat first………it was that ENORMOUS SQUIRREL OR SQUIRRELS that ………………..……………..end of announcement…………
  10. Very generous Ernie, thank you. The Elco is there but…………photography sucks…….I’ll have another go……..
  11. Peter, great to hear your wife is progressing in the right direction, the pony is looking factory fresh, looking forward to the reveal……
  12. No wonder there is a worldwide shortage of Corsairs……..looking forward to it John…….
  13. Thanks Ernie for the sneak preview, I’ll wait until the full deep dive but………it isn’t pushing the right levers yet. Only built a couple of Trumpeters, why go to the expense of tooling something if it’s not accurate or even vaguely close, perhaps it’s the engineer in me……….
  14. It is Gaz, stem to stern it’s 850mm or 85 cm……..
  15. You are right Gaz, you could spend a year adding more detail because the subject is so large. I had grand ideas but time was against it. That’s why when I look at 16th AFV’s there should be dripping with detail but in a lot of cases they are not, strange IMHO…………always fancied Revell’s Flower Class Corvette, not sure how big that is………
  16. Thanks Gaz, my photography skills are not great and I always struggle. This is large, so finding a suitable area to position it is going to be fun. I might even try outside? You must do a 35th E Boat to go with your 72nd…….
  17. Thanks Carl, I think I’ll make it, the biggest hurdle has been the spraying and and assembling finished parts…….
  18. Thanks Rob, it’s tricky fining up without breaking other parts…….
  19. Getting ever closer, fingers crossed I’ll make it…….teaser……
  20. Thoughts and prayers Ron.
  21. Stunning 38, welcome to LSM. Love the NFM and weathering…..congrats…..
  22. That’s bright, very nice indeed. This will standout in the cabinet……
  23. What would I do with a brain if I had one……..to quote…….
  24. Congratulations Kevin, not sure if my modelling is up to that much scrutiny…..
