Hubert, thanks much appreciated. I find the same as you except with their AFV’s. They are up against some serious competition from the likes of RFM, Takom, Dragon in as far as detail but do not want to compete. Therefore I’m in your camp that I will not purchase their AFV’s….. -

Thanks Gaz, it’s a very satisfying build. When you look at the new Devastator @ around £100 and this Mosquito at around £200 the differential in detail, engineering, moulding, instructions, decals is a millennium apart………yes, so please Mr Tamiya more 32nd ………….. -

Thanks Peter much appreciated. In wonder if the Mossie was too much for Tamiya. Saying that I believe it still sells look at their 1975 Lancaster that is still being produced. I miss the cuss factors a little because the kit is so good… -

Thanks Rob much appreciated. I’ve never known a build to come together so quickly. I guess because the nil “cuss factors” that exist. For years I haven’t built this as it seemed daunting but not at all. Everyone should build one in the career. -

This build seems to be flying along. With cockpit in and gun bay awaiting AM barrels, the fuselage has been buttoned up. Engines now almost complete, items to be added once in the nacelles. One word of warning, take notice of the construction sequence, caused myself some problems thinking I knew better ☹️. Wing ready for the top skins to be added and they are complete. Love the wheels and their perfect engineered solution. This is a real pleasure to build……….enjoy the pictures……..some more weathering and fettling to be added to the engines…… -
Rob, looking forward to that comparison. When I came back to the hobby I made the big mistake of buying a cheap Chinese AB. Lasted 2 months, I replaced it with a H & S Infinity. It’s their basic AB but love it, been toying about up scaling to a CR or beyond. It would be good to know the advantages?……

Never entered a competition bar the GB here. Going to follow this as to understand what is required for comp entry. My very brief alliance with the IPMS was not a good experience. What is your brother building? -

Rob, not even from the side door. Not sure why Tamiya never released the bomber version, surely 85% of the airframe etc were already tooled…….. -

Much appreciated Hubert, the wiring to the IP think will be hidden forever so I passed on it, may come back and bite me of course. -
Looking very nice Mark, at 16th scale it’s the perfect size to go mad on the detailing, I guess………..

Gaz, looking amazing to me, love the stressed look. I’d say that is pretty realistic and doesn’t need anymore but that’s IMHO. Are you watching the cricket may I enquire……… -

Ok guys it’s time to button this up. A few shots of the cockpit before being embedded forever deep in the fuselage. The fuselage halves are now closed and curing, I’ll post pictures of fuselage and completed engines in next couple of days………and couldn’t resist adding a little bit of piping……- 197 replies
