Trumpeter P-47D Razorback

Nice work 👍! No judge in a contest would probably know what’s right anyway, not taking into account that accuracy is NOT a criterion in judging in model contests. But no judging can beat the « I know it’s accurate » feeling , and this is the one you are striving to satisfy . Hubert -
It’s a great kit ! (I still have to finish mine, though) it can be a bit fiddly in some areas, especially the assembly between the seat pan and seat back, with the intervention of PE braces … Ask me how I know … Well, forewarned is forearmed … Hubert

+1 ! And good to see something else than RAF schemes. That Swedish one is striking (although I am well placed to understand the attraction of the Portuguese version ) Hubert -
Got mine yesterday ! Now to finish the Cutlass to clear the bench for this one… Leaving on Sunday for a 12-days trip to France, so it’s probably another 3 weeks before I can get started. And to reopen my books to see what is needed to convert this one to a -4, with yellow wings. Hubert

The effect is subtle but still makes a huge difference, Mike 👍 ! You must probably account for 50% of Aviattic’s decals turnover 😊, with your kit output Hubert -
+1 in preferring Porto over Lisbon ! And the Porto wine producing area, from Peso da Regua upstream, is absolutely gorgeous ! And, you may have not noticed it, but the North of Portugal has a lot richer gastronomy culture than the Center or the South. As a Frenchman living in Portugal, food is, of course, a key topic 😎 Hubert

Repeating what I said in another post: as the 3D-printing process entails a washing phase to get rid of residual resin sticking to the parts coming out of the printer, and as the wash is usually with IPA ( the alcohol, not the beer), no need to wash them again. Some new 3D- Printing resins are water-washable, but, anyway, the printing process does not use any mold release agent. Hubert
-
3D-printed is no different than « normal » resin. So, yes, CA, or epoxy glue. The only plus is that, having been cleaned of unwanted resin left over from the printing process with IPA, you can skip the degreasing step ! Hopefully mine will be there when I come back from my trip to Bali (catching my flight later today). Looking forward to see your build Hubert

Just like on the original, you need to increase the take-off incidence by lengthening the nose gear leg, à la Cutlass or UK Phantom FG-2 … just my two cents Hubert -
So, another boost to my stash’s value. With 11/12 Fisher kits, about 9/10 HPH, and the same amount of Marsh Models/Aerotech (also gone) kits contributing to the attic insulation, I reckon I should verify my insurance cover 🤣😂🤣 Hubert

Good to see you back, Ernie … Gotta say your silence of last months got me worried 😧… Hubert

The ancestor of the A-12 … and great-grand-father of the X-47B. If in service before 1955, it should GSB, or NMF (imagine these wings in NMF, to push the heresy to its end …) Hubert -

Well, the soon-to-be-released ZM kit has some for the twin-seater (but not for the single-seat V3 you can do with the same box) https://www.zoukeimura.co.jp/en/sentiment/oyajiblog_137.html Hubert -
Mount Agung is THE volcano of Bali (but not the only one) culminating at slightly more than 3000 meters. It can be seen from almost any point of the island, when it’s not in clouds … And it was last active in 2017, so yes, it can definitely be considered an active volcano … Hubert

I have a similar experience with my Molotov chrome pens. They looked great when "fresh", but now that hey are a few years old, the "chrome is all but gone, even after some vigorous reshaking. But I can vouch for AK's Super-Chrome. WOW ! I bought a bottle to try and it's fantastic, whether you use it with an airbrush, or a brush. You' ll see the effect when I post some pics of the LG of my Cutlass. Hubert -
Can you still call someone who "forces" 😵💫 you to grow the stash a friend ... ? Hubert

+1 ! Hubert
