  1. And even more amazing is the fact that the same European item, shipped from Australia to Europe, is still overall cheaper than from the European manufacturer, direct … Hubert
  2. Yes, but as a German, with engineering training on top, you cannot ignore that thinking in 3D speaks, literally, volumes 😂! Hubert, re-re-smartassing
  3. Tigger Models has released a 1/32 vacform F-111 … Hubert
  4. Well, technically, they are 1000 times smaller… Hubert, playing smartass 😇
  5. To lighten things up a little, Louis Jouvet, a famous French actor of the 1930s, was meeting with a group a friends and in the discussion started to complain about his prostate problems. One of the guys there used to stutter, and asked, all stuttering, what the prostate problems meant. « It means I pee like you speak » was Jouvet’s answer Hubert
  6. Just read on The Modellingnews that a brand I did not know hereto, ForeArt - ex ForeHobby - has released a set of 3 different versions of the S-38 in 1/72. Certainly more up-to-date than the venerable Airfix E-boat … https://www.themodellingnews.com/2023/04/foreart-ex-forehobby-now-back-with-two.html#more Hubert
  7. The GWH 1/48 Devastator was a pretty good, and accurate, representation of the TBD, and better than the old Monogram kit, so there is hope that the 1/32 version will be just as good, given the links between Trumpeter and GWH. Anyway, we’ll know soon enough … Hubert
  8. I kept telling my ex-wife, doing a Masters in psychology, she could and should not use and apply any of her psychology theories and analyses to her family members, and pretend she knew better than me or our children what were our motives and reasons for acting or reacting in a given way, but this was a concept she could not - or was not willing to - grasp … Guess why she is now my ex-wife ? As for living in a couple, you guys know the old saying « In a couple, there is always one of the two who is right … and there is the husband ! » Finally, Chris, I hope that your doctors know that any PSA test within 2 months of the prostate being manipulated, including the classical « intimate » examination, is just likely to give irrelevant results … Hubert
  9. Great technique. I just need to remember it when I need it Hubert
  10. I see some people, somewhere else, are already complaining about the price, and the AM set prices. Frankly, this is more expensive than a Revell kit, yes, but not that much compared to other releases by other brands. As for AM, as with any other kit, you can choose to add them or to dispense with them ... But a Tamiya Spitfire with just a Quinta set for the cockpit will cost nearly the same, with admittedly better fit (well, resumably) and design ... In the AM sets, you can split them in 3 categories : very desirable, somewhat useful and nice-to-have ... Of course, anyone's choice will vary ... Hubert
  11. Well, it’s announced as being released by the Easter Bunny Hubert
  12. I can also vouch for the quality of Maru Machanic publications, at last for drawings and the like. The B&W pictures are of more limited quality, but then it’s also maybe a function of the period originals … Hubert
  13. Very nice build Dave and great result 👍! My only gripe would concern the undercarriage: whilst I could not find any absolutely conclusive pics, it seems to me that the legs were slightly splayed outwards - certainly not anything like the 109, but a small angle. And the wheel axle is too long compared to the 1:1 original. The pics show the wheel to have a paper-thin distance to the leg trunk. Hubert
  14. Now you know where your recent health problems come from 😅… Did you mention that hazard to the docs 😉 ? Hubert
  15. CRNA was a reconversion from a former military job. I remember well him mentioning his newly-attributed diploma on LSP. And, he was his obnioxous, agressive, arrogant, confrontational, self a looooong time before his CRNA reconversion, on LSP, LSM, or other forums … My understanding was that Fündecals was a JV with a partner. And I agree this is THE area where he showed his knowledge, meticulousness and attention to detail, to produce great products. Mind you, maybe he is (hopefully) a good and charming, besides competent, CRNA. I certainly hope so, for his patients. Hubert
  16. Very nice work, Mike. If I may, the linen effect decals look surprisingly « heavy » on this build, compared to what I have grown to get used to on your builds. But then, maybe it’s just me … Hubert
  17. Only this time they had found again the lofting curves that they had forgotten in a remote-corner drawer since the 20’s Hubert
  18. Those German battlewagons were really elegant and good-looking, the SMS Seydlitz being my favorite. I remember owning the GK, but sold it off once I decided 1/350 was too small for my liking. 1/200 or above for me ! This said, Hubert
  19. If someone had told me that I - of all people - would one day advise another modeler on the whereabouts of a Me-109 😂 … Nice progress, Peter. Some small gaps still to fill around the rear fin / plate junction on the left side, no ? And good luck for the surgery 🤞 ! Hubert
  20. Paul Fisher did one in 1/24 on a commission, to his usual standard. Then Lone Star Models has done one in 1/32, admittedly not as nice and refined as Fisher’s. And Marsh Models have announced a 1/32 release later this year. The brainchild of Louis de Monge was beautiful, but the question remains as to whether it was a sound airframe … Hubert
  21. Well, t may be over-engineered and finicky in places, but you went through this build like a breeze, John. And the result is great, as per your usual 👍 ! Hubert
