  1. What I know is that direct orders to Quinta fail because the payment process cannot be completed … Hubert
  2. The problem for Quinta is that they cannot receive payments, thanks to the international sanctions. At least, it proves that the sanctions have an impact on Russian economic activities 👍. Hubert
  3. What’s not to love in a Dassaut delta 🥰 ? Hubert
  4. Some pics of the renderings, to whet your appetite Hubert
  5. I have designed a - very - detailed 1/32 R-985 that can very well be printed in 1/24 scale. Don’t ask me to print it myself, because my 3D-printer is sort of stored in-between house moves. But you can have the file if you find someone to print it for you. Hubert
  6. Cool build and very nice result 👍 ! I remember buying the Alcock and Brown kit decades ago. Resold it after a few years … Hubert
  7. Beeeeg … but « wrong scale » 🤣😂🤣 Hubert
  8. FYI, the Vector R-1820 is one that threw me into fits: because they did not understand the shape of the oil sump between the two lower cylinders (which, to simplify, looks like a fat « T » with rounded corners when viewed from above, with the vertical bar of the « T » between the two said cylinders), and to make space for it, they decided to widen the space between these two cylinders. Thus the 9 cylinders are not evenly distributed, with a 40° angle between each … I found a FPW model 1/32 R-1820 recently : https://www.ebay.fr/itm/285150116289 Mine is on its way home from Poland, but it really looks promising, and much better than the wobbly Vector offering … Hubert PS: whilst the uneven polar distribution of the cylinders may not be an issue in the Buffalo cowling - although for me « once seen, never unseen » - it is one when you try to fit it into a cowling of the Grumman Gulfhawk with its bossings above the cylinder heads …
  9. Any scale in « 1xx » or « 2xx » for ships is good in my book 😏. I discovered the USS Olympia kit in the « spare parts » department of Revell GB in 1978. It was already OOP for some time… And of course, I have one (two actually) in the stash, but missed the Encore release where the upgrades are actually a GREAT addition to a venerable kit which is a few years older than me (and THAT’s telling a lot) … Hubert
  10. Hey, this wrong scale virus is not mine! It’s another one coming from China … I’m just a whistle blower (and I whistle strongly 🤣😂🤣) Hubert the 😇
  11. Good move, Ernie, but please do not add a specific 1/24 sub-forum. Cluttering a forum opening page with plenty of sub-forums is a sure way of creating confusion and boredom. That’s one major reason why I finally stopped even opening ARC … And besides, whilst I can sometimes be accused of being a scale snob, I am also really enjoy watching - even if by accident initially - build threads outside my areas of preference : I found I could learn plenty of new techniques and discover new things this way. Hubert
  12. I’m officially jealous 👍 … Hubert
  13. Amazing detail, Pete. A question to the expert : would the artificial horizon be « horizontal » on the ground, or can it assume any position when the aircraft is powered off (unless you want to display an aircraft climbing and banking) ? Hubert
  14. A few years ago, I participated in a « Matchbox » buddy build challenge. I chose the (1/72, ot course Boeing P-12 E, which was one of Matchbox’ s best. I couldn't help to add detailing to the cockpit, but, gawd, was it tiny, and the rigging unnerving Hubert
  15. Excellent result with the rocks and small stream 👍! They all look very realistic . As for the story, the expediencies of war sometimes push you in tight corners, but I am not sure this Bronco will not finish with wet wheels Hubert
  16. I found the perfect option for you, Carl ! A Mech Squirrel … Hubert
  17. Well, your opening is good for the outside perimeter. Now to reproduce the embossed center part with its outside rivets and lights in the middle … Taking notes for my own build Hubert
  18. Well, the « 1/32 » man looks more like Jack’s beanstalk giant …. 54 mm really ? And the 1/35 pilot is 49 mm ? Hubert
