  1. +1 ! And good to see something else than RAF schemes. That Swedish one is striking (although I am well placed to understand the attraction of the Portuguese version ) Hubert
  2. Got mine yesterday ! Now to finish the Cutlass to clear the bench for this one… Leaving on Sunday for a 12-days trip to France, so it’s probably another 3 weeks before I can get started. And to reopen my books to see what is needed to convert this one to a -4, with yellow wings. Hubert
  3. "For sale, because of death, brand new parachute. Never opened, used only once. Make offers on ..." Hubert
  4. The effect is subtle but still makes a huge difference, Mike 👍 ! You must probably account for 50% of Aviattic’s decals turnover 😊, with your kit output Hubert
  5. +1 in preferring Porto over Lisbon ! And the Porto wine producing area, from Peso da Regua upstream, is absolutely gorgeous ! And, you may have not noticed it, but the North of Portugal has a lot richer gastronomy culture than the Center or the South. As a Frenchman living in Portugal, food is, of course, a key topic 😎 Hubert
  6. Repeating what I said in another post: as the 3D-printing process entails a washing phase to get rid of residual resin sticking to the parts coming out of the printer, and as the wash is usually with IPA ( the alcohol, not the beer), no need to wash them again. Some new 3D- Printing resins are water-washable, but, anyway, the printing process does not use any mold release agent. Hubert
  7. 3D-printed is no different than « normal » resin. So, yes, CA, or epoxy glue. The only plus is that, having been cleaned of unwanted resin left over from the printing process with IPA, you can skip the degreasing step ! Hopefully mine will be there when I come back from my trip to Bali (catching my flight later today). Looking forward to see your build Hubert
  8. I could not resist … 😉 Hubert
  9. Maybe you should have insisted, Gus 🤣😂🤣 … Hubert
  10. Maybe you’ve still time: I understand (but did not check) that the website would close this week-end only. Hubert
  11. Coming from China, it’s got to be Beijing style roast duck … yummy ! Hubert
  12. Just like on the original, you need to increase the take-off incidence by lengthening the nose gear leg, à la Cutlass or UK Phantom FG-2 … just my two cents Hubert
  13. So, another boost to my stash’s value. With 11/12 Fisher kits, about 9/10 HPH, and the same amount of Marsh Models/Aerotech (also gone) kits contributing to the attic insulation, I reckon I should verify my insurance cover 🤣😂🤣 Hubert
  14. Good to see you back, Ernie … Gotta say your silence of last months got me worried 😧… Hubert
  15. The ancestor of the A-12 … and great-grand-father of the X-47B. If in service before 1955, it should GSB, or NMF (imagine these wings in NMF, to push the heresy to its end …) Hubert
  16. As usual, this was a great build to follow, with an outstanding result Hubert
  17. Well, the soon-to-be-released ZM kit has some for the twin-seater (but not for the single-seat V3 you can do with the same box) https://www.zoukeimura.co.jp/en/sentiment/oyajiblog_137.html Hubert
  18. Mount Agung is THE volcano of Bali (but not the only one) culminating at slightly more than 3000 meters. It can be seen from almost any point of the island, when it’s not in clouds … And it was last active in 2017, so yes, it can definitely be considered an active volcano … Hubert
  19. Got us a two-weeks vacation in Bali … There are worst views to wake up in the morning … Hubert
  20. I have a similar experience with my Molotov chrome pens. They looked great when "fresh", but now that hey are a few years old, the "chrome is all but gone, even after some vigorous reshaking. But I can vouch for AK's Super-Chrome. WOW ! I bought a bottle to try and it's fantastic, whether you use it with an airbrush, or a brush. You' ll see the effect when I post some pics of the LG of my Cutlass. Hubert
  21. Can you still call someone who "forces" 😵‍💫 you to grow the stash a friend ... ? Hubert
  22. +1 ! Hubert
  23. Thank you Mike and John. I have to say, in as much as I like the unique looks of the Cutlass, and Fisher kits in general, this one is wearing my patience thin, and I have to discipline myself not to rush through the final stages. It’s probably a function of having started the kit so long ago, and an inversely proportional mojo to finish it … I have a few SOD queens I wanted to deal with after the Cutlass, but I lay just focus on something brand new and exciting. C’mon, Lukgraph, bring on the Duck ! Hubert
  24. A smallish update, with workbench pics of the Cutlass. I have now finished the decalling. I created and printed the VA-83 specific markings, and used the Fisher decals for the rest. By the way, in case you wonder, the painting specs devised by the Navy and Cutlass were that the national insigna were to be "decals" on the 1:1 aircrafts. Which gave me a good excuse for not cutting masks ... I still have to add a last layer of varnish to seal everything, but am waiting for the additional parts add-ons. I am now in the process of painting the batch of small parts (some I had painted already, but forgot a number) and I had also to print yet another time the slats, as the large ones keep warping after a few days Unfortunately, it looks like this last set is going the same way ... . Oh well, not again ... Next "installment" will be with the mounting finished and all parts glued in place. Cheers for now Hubert
  25. Ah yes, now I remember it ! As: 1) I felt the variation did show, even if not linked to the basing 2) I am wary of adding yet another few microns of paint, especially as the whole aircraft has been gloss-coated with Aqua_gloss 3) I have started adding some decals, I will use this technique on my next NMF aircraft. But it's now filed and thank you for the reminder. Hubert
