A bunch of OOB stuff I have been working on lately. Nothing as nice as what you guys have been throwing up here, but since I am one of those assholes who builds only when it's fun and takes it all about as seriously as anything else here they are in all their basic workmanship: Tamiya/Italeri Sd.Kfz 231 6-rad and Dragon Stug IV representing France 1940 and the Ardennes 1944, respectively. They still need a bunch of touch-up, but respray is not an issue with these camo schemes. The superstructure on the Stug is not tied down yet, nor is the track on yet. Both will get a wash after I paint the OEM crap and other bobbles. Both kits are old molds and I already plan to update the Stug with one of the newer toolings eventually, so...anyway. -
I second the non-use of solvent-based washes; that Bandai plastic doesn't like it.

This phrase has been becoming more and more true by the day. My fervent hope is the power of PC culture will be broken and we can get back to just being people again and not flip out over every least little thing.

Some of the students in my class noticed it a week or so ago while looking at upcoming vehicles to try and guess what new content would be in the pipeline for their racing games. High school age boys aren't liking it either.

The end of plastic model videos on youtube.

The end of modeling videos on YouTube is not the end of modeling videos. There is another Skywalker. -
I think what some people do is look for the gun pod sprue on ebay or similar to see if someone built it as a non-gun plane and are selling those parts. Chances of getting one from the manufacturer are slim since they don't make spare parts--they just rob complete kits until those are used up.
-
On the real plane, the gun pods are the same but on the kit they made them mirrored, if you get what I am saying.

2nd Annual LSM Christmas raffle and winners list

I'm in, and I think I have stuff to offer up as well. I will get back to you on that. -
It's black, so maybe they used tar paper for that one.

I'll pass. I know people like Tamiya's 'shake and bake' construction for their armor but I am less than pleased that they make some detail concessions for this and they don't carry a broad range of variants within a type, specifically the German armor. That and the fact that there are actually very few German vehicles they make in 1/48 that I don't already own in 1/35 courtesy of Dragon, Bronco, Hobby Boss, Trumpeter, Amusing Hobbies, AFV Club, Takom, RFM, Meng, ICM, and Zvezda. Seriously, do they have 220+ German WWII kits in 1/48?
-
If you search around you can find better grade BB's. At any rate, I go through my Tamiya fairly fast as I build a lot of German armor and am turning those grays, browns, greens, and yellows over every couple of months.

I put one in the dropper-type bottles and two in larger bottles and jars.
