Hey Nige I was wondering if you could help me out. I plan on making my HK Lancaster into Sergeant Norman C. Jackson's Lanc "ME699" "ZN-O". I can't seem to find any information or pictures of this aircraft. I'm looking for info on correct type, correct nose blister, etc. If you have any info on this plane could you pass it on. I have found decals for the code and serial numbers. Are there any books that have pictures of this aircraft? Any info on this plane would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Ron G

Those are some pretty weird landing gear I found this on Shapways 3D printed. It's a P-6n catapult as used on US battleships and cruisers. It ain't cheap around $400!!!

Hey Martin I most definitely will when I start building it. I just received my brass inserts for the B-24 and wanted to see how they fit. They actually fit really nice. I started fitting and the next thing I new I had the front temporarily assembled. I guess I got a little carried away.

Other sde This is the Aires P-38 wheel/tire that I used my Fordom tool on to grind away the brake drum. This is the rear side. This is the front side.

Thanks Nige I'm not a crazed rivet counter, but I do like my models to represent the aircraft as best as possible. As I said this would be an oob except for the items I mentioned. I can scratch build stuff if I have to but prefer to assemble and paint to get the results I want. So it sounds like this might be one I'm going to want. It will fill that empty spot between the Lanc and B-24, also the B-25, Mosquito etc. Boy I'm going to need a really big shelf Ron G

So then your saying the only bad area is the nose by the wind screen? Ron G

Hey all I'm just wondering is the HK B-17E/F worth the $300.00 dollar price tag? Does it have any of the same issues that Nige has found on the Lancaster? I would like to do one basically out of box with just a few add ons, like aftermarket instrument panel, Eduard wheels and master gun barrels. So is it worth the effort or is my money better spent on somthing else. Thanks Ron G

WOW Carl you are an amazing modeller. This is some impressive work. Its geat seeing you working with your sons. I tried with my son but alas no go, so I'm working with my grandson on a Bandi kit hoping that the modeling bug takes, but it's hard to fight the video games

Took a break from the cockpit. I started on the pilot figure first coat of paint, I still need to add the detail painting and a wash then a flat coat. Ron G think He'll pass as a Zero pilot.

Ok here are some update photos. I still need to do touch ups and add details. The exhausts are galvanicly grown metal I belive they are from a company called REXx. They are the same process as the old Moskit stuff. I found them on scalemates. They are an exact match to the Tamiya parts. They also make them for alot of other planes. So let me what you think Thanks Ron. G
