I need to replace a part. I could not find link with contact for part replacement. Saw link in FAQ for "How to...." no data on contact info like phone number or email addy. I did send a general inquiry to the Customer Service asking for contact data. Anyone have experience ordering replacement "trees" from Tamiya? Thanks - Rick

These resin parts fit quite well. Belly Box will need some putty. A far cry from the trimming, hollowing and making fit I've had to do with the Mistel, Tiffy and 190C. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

It's been a crazy few months with another knee surgery, kids soccer and swim team ramping up. All good. However, bench time took a hit. I binned the Ju88 Mistel 2, MDC Typhoon and FW190C conversions for the time being. All that resin cleaning, hollowing and fitting was killing my mojo. So I took a break and worked on 2 Eduard 1:144 Spitfires. No WIP images as I just wanted to do a build and relax. I feel much better now. On the bench is Hobby Boss's EMB-314 Super Tucano which will be built as a fictitious USMC A-29 LAS aircraft based somewhere in Afghanistan. 3 tone Lo Vis gray camo FS(36) 495, 320, 375 will be applied with a load out of 4 GBU12's. http://i1171.photobucket.com/albums/r555/rkranias/A-29%20Super%20Tucano/A29_BoxArt.jpg Hobby Boss EMB-314 Super Tucano will be the base kit. Test fit yields good fit with light panel lines. The Hobby Boss trademark "seam" on the canopy is there. Good news, on actual A29's based in Afghanistan there is some type of center seam on the canopy. Is it an antenna? Expansion joint to survive in the hot dessert conditions? Not sure. http://i1171.photobucket.com/albums/r555/rkranias/A-29%20Super%20Tucano/Scooter.jpg Using Furball's Devil Dog Scooter decal sheet I am going to use the Lo Viz marking from VMA-311. Obvious the intake warning, aircraft ID decals will not be used. I will use a few of the kit decals for stencils, etc. Serial number decals will be generated from my laser printer. http://i1171.photobucket.com/albums/r555/rkranias/A-29%20Super%20Tucano/A29_AM03.jpg AVM A29 Super Tucano LAS resin set will be used. This set includes a FLIR, armor belts, centerline "wet"mount, chaff & flare dispensers, laser range finder and corrected underwing belly box. http://i1171.photobucket.com/albums/r555/rkranias/A-29%20Super%20Tucano/A29_AM04.jpg Usual Eduard goodies will be used. I will only use landing gear and a few other PE exterior parts as the access doors and panels give the model clunky out of scale look. The real A29 the access doors and panels are quite smooth. http://i1171.photobucket.com/albums/r555/rkranias/A-29%20Super%20Tucano/A29_AM01.jpg Quickboost gun barrels and exhaust sets. http://i1171.photobucket.com/albums/r555/rkranias/A-29%20Super%20Tucano/A29_AM02.jpg Eduard Brassin GBU 12's will serve as the load out. Great detail. Started cleaning...add colorful metaphors here.

sweet stuff. just disappointed I would have no room to store, let alone display such a large model. I'll watch from the sidelines. -

Beautiful work Fran. Congratulations on your publication in MAI. -
Looking good. This is going to be a fun journey. Am sure you will beat the canopy issues into submission. AIMS did a great job on the castings. Agree with you on the 801 castings. When the heck is Revell going to release a 1:32 C2, G1*, 188*? They have the *801 mold.

I just love stories like this. I was raised in Gettysburg, PA. Think "Battle of Gettysburg" 1-3 Jul, 1863 during the American War Between The States. The house across the street from our house "The Dobbin House" built in 1776 was used as the "Underground Railroad" to help escaped slaves reach slave free states. During the Battle of Gettysburg the Dobbin House was a field hospital. For a long time is was a museum. The Dobbin House is now a restaurant/tavern/B&B. Cheers - Rick

Ha perfect! Thanks Mike. Love the Portland, Seaside and everything in between. I did "Hood To Coast" in 01. Had a blast, drank lots of Watney's afterwards.

Ju88G1 Mistel 2 "Red 12", 6./KG200

PACKED AWAY I found myself working on 3 difficult resin kits/conversions at the same time. Frankly it was driving me nuts. Lost my MoJo. That said, I am boxing up my Ju88G1 Mistel 2 conversion for now. I am also going to closely evaluate doing this project, with the Fw190A8 Mistel 2, as a flying dio. Recently, Haagen Klaus gave me some coaching on preparing a large build project to be displayed in flight. Haagen masterfully completed an In-Flight Refueling build with a 1:72 KC10 Extender, C5 Galaxy and NRF4C Phantom II. My plan is to show the moment of release of the Ju88G1 from the Fw190A8. Stay tuned. -
PACKED AWAY My Planet Model Fw190C-V18/U1Hasegawa Fw190 conversion is taking a leave of absence. I found myself working on 3 difficult resin kits/conversions at the same time. Frankly it was driving me nuts. I lost my MoJo. Planning some OOB builds, NO AM PE, NO AM RESIN. The purpose is to get my MoJo back. Stay tuned.

great looking dio. -
The Ju88 Mistel, FW190C and Tiffy have been packed away for the time being. Frankly, resin has been killing my MoJo. I finished these 2 1:144 Eduard Spits as therapeutic builds. I love the challenge of resin. But man, I had 3 major resin projects on my bench at the same time. I am considering starting my Trumpy P-40B OOB build with Pearl Harbor finish. Get my WNW DH.9 on the bench. TBD. The Eduard Spitfires were a complete joy to build. Never thought I do something as small as 1:144. It was a nice break and I might consider doing another 1:144 build.

nice finish, love the scheme

The Ju88 Mistel, FW190C and Tiffy have been packed away for the time being. Frankly, resin has been killing my MoJo. I knocked off 2 1:144 Eduard Spits last month and I have decided I need a break from things resin. I am considering starting my Trumpy P-40B OOB build with Pearl Harbor finish. Are pre war P-40's interior/wheel wells, etc natural metal or zinc chromate green? Thanks - Rick

Ju-88C-2 "4D+FH" Finished!

a great build with clever engineering to make it interesting. outstanding work! -
Very nice work on the 801 I am tempted to buy the engine and build as a stand alone (Power Egg) project. I have a Revell 190 and will be on my bench soon. I need to finish current projects.
