  1. this is really nice. would love the build details on this. basic materials list, especially the tubes. I am stealing this pic to use as reference for my M10 scratch build efforts. this is excellent engineering, bravo.
  2. welcome to the forum and what an entrance! very well done on your Jug. the photo etch enhancements, weathering and added details are top. those scratch built bazookas are the awesome! would love to see WIP pics on these. congratulations on a great finish to one of my favorite aircraft. look forward to see more.
  3. you are your worst critic, great finish and interesting scheme. welcome back to toy airplanes and welcome to the forum.
  4. Snagged these Zekes on eBay for $80 each, ship included. Both were shrink wrapped and came from a smokers home. Had to remove the wrap...much better now. Always wanted the A6M5. The A6M2b will be step one of my future build project "Pearl Harbor Planes." Will use these on my FW190C and P47D which will both be NMF.
  5. Ok, So Revell's Ju88 A4 is better fit than Revell's Ju88 A1?
  6. beautiful effort, especially the "squiggly" camo. clearly shows the Revell He219 can look just as good as the ZM offering. Your WIP photos... are they gone for good?
  7. I continue to be completely overwhelmed on this project. bravo Tom!
  8. congratulations!
  9. Great review James. What a beauty of a kit. Pricey? Yes. However, you get all the bells and whistles (PE, Masks, Turned Metal, Textile Belts) in one package, really no need for any aftermarket. Take a mainstream 1:32 kit and load up on aftermarket and the final cost is comparable. Would like to see AM parts for a BK 5 cannon Me 410A-1/U4. Am seriously considering to thin my stash to ease financials to get this kit. Oh, and the Belgian chocolate...a great peace offering to the spouse to cease any questions on cost of kit.
  10. skill-sets far beyond mine Jim. a beautiful build and great historical subject.
  11. Tamiya's 1:32 Spitfire Mk.IXc is in stock at Scale Hobbyist. This particular aircraft has been hard to snag for some time. Has been out of stock at Squadron and Sprue Brothers for ages. Price is a reasonable USD$112. TAMIYA 1:32 Spitfire Mk.IXc
  12. ok, so you have to stir the pot, eh?
  13. looks like a stunning kit. just too big for my bench. hopeful for a 1:32 Tiffy launch. meanwhile I'll work on my MDC Tiffy.
  14. agree. agree, agree!
  15. Engine and tail wheel mount. Engine aligned and glued with 5 minute epoxy. Turbo supercharger plumbing is not mounted. Will mount prior to wing assembly. Tail wheel assembly aligned and glued with 5 minute epoxy. Next step will be to mend rear port fuselage and mount the wings.
  16. Ok, not going to finish in time. I did get some bench time this weekend. Tail Wheel enhancement. Piston removed and drilled out with a 1.10mm micro bit. A 2mm x 0.45mm aluminum tube is cut and a plastic rod 1.0mm dia will be used as shaft guide. Test fit is good. Will align and glue then install prior to fuselage button up.
  17. me thinks it's frustration with how much time I am spending on this project. making the donor kit parts fit has been an exercise in futility.
  18. great airbrush n the camo. interesting scheme.
  19. Lately this build has been plagued with one issue after another. I finish one issue then another arises. More surgery, more creative modelling, more epoxy, more putty and a s--t load of sanding. Fuselage, wing assembly alignment is turning into a nightmare. Nothing I cannot handle, I'm just tired of looking at this and has been taking way too much time. She may be binned for awhile so I may focus of wrapping up my Mistel 2 FW190, "Slick Chick" and get started on my Ju88 G1 build.
  20. My $19.67 kit just got a tad more expensive.
  21. Profimodeller hurt me. Will be using smooth (no tread) wheels in lieu of tread wheels. The tail wheel/bay should be fun as assembly closely matches my control line flying days building balsa wood planes with bulk heads/stringers/tissue and some good dope.
  22. Hey Paul! Looks like "free beer" for a long time coming your way.
  23. looking great! bring on the weathering!
