  1. Thanks for sharing all the pics Martin. The Halberd instructions don't mention any colours for the cockpit so this information is extremely helpful.
  2. Great to hear that the resin bits fit properly without needed major surgery. And great looking engine too,
  3. I've been a happy customer of Roy's since his days with Cooper Details. Most of his products are straightforward to use and really add a nice bit of detail. I just got an email from him saying he's having a sale at the moment. I'll have to see what other new products he has Carl
  4. For me, stuff usually turns up after I've bought the replacement.
  5. I'd be up for that. Let me get through the Tomcat first.
  6. The Halberd conversion is more or less like subbing in different parts for the kit ones. Sorry for the distraction Peter. Back to your regularly scheduled build.
  7. To paraphrase The Princess Bride: I've got the Tomcat to finish, the Cavalier Mustang to procrastinate over and my Valkyrie to start. I'm completely swamped!
  8. Great work there Peter. I've yet to build a Tamiya Mustang even though I've owned several since they came out. In fact, I've only done one 1/32 Mustang and that was the Dragon one which I did as a fictional CHP one. I do have a Tamiya kit out at the moment but it's a donor for the Cavalier Mustang.
  9. Staying with 1/16 armour, my AFV Modeler order arrived today. I've got fenders coming from Hobbyeasy and that should be just about everything I plan to get for the build. Then it'll just be a question of when.
  10. Thanks Peter! I'm still working away at the kit. In fact, I'm actually making decent progress on it. I've started priming some of the parts using Mr Aqueous Surfacer. There's a few spots that will need touchup but not a surprise. The MLG bays are now assembled and installed.
  11. That definitely looks snug. Almost like economy class.
  12. Rob, great looking plane. Being a Gee Bee, it has to be tiny in 1/72, nevermind 1/32.
  13. The worst case I've had with the carpet monster absconding with something was a Tamiya 1/32 F-4 fuselage. Yup, the whole one piece fuselage. I've had a squirrel chew on a nose cone, but how the fuselage disappeared I have no idea. I never found it. I know it didn't get thrown out but to this day, I have no idea where it went. Carl
  14. Sue beat me to the door today so the post woman gave my package to her. Thankfully when I showed her it was from the Ukraine, she that it was great I was supporting them. So win-win! I couldn't resist a quick test fit after going through the contents. @HubertB's review was spot on, however brief it may have been. Back into the box at least until I get the Tomcat done. Might be a bit longer as there is one project I want to start this year.
  15. Looks just about perfect Gus. Makes it very tempting for me to just go out and get one of these rather than continue on my 1/32 version. Mind you, I already have a pair of the D versions in the stash. Carl
  16. Those are some great prices Rog. I've been ordering less from Japan since they still haven't allowed packages to be sent via Japan Post. The courier options are generally quite expensive. It's only if it's something I can't get elsewhere that I'll order it from a retailer there.
  17. Ernie, the interior looks fantastic. Nice to see that the main components also fit together well. Definitely treating the kit as a short run model and doing lots of test fitting makes sense. I find it easier to fix things then rather than slathering on tons of putty.
  18. Great work on the seat and fender mods. The interior bits will make a big difference looking in from the hatches.
  19. The earlier one I had did that. It was made by Shadow Hobby.
  20. Absolutely! I have an earlier one made by a different company and when the Dspiae one came out, I grabbed that as it was so much easier to use.
  21. Thanks Rob! I didn't know about those. One idea I had with the ones I bought was to use them to cut masks from tape. It'll be a good test of the tape knife I bought earlier.
  22. Very busy looking interior. Great job on the paint and assembly. Glad to hear the fit is good too.
  23. Got a small order from BNA today. Masks for the GWH AVG Hawk and the Andy's Tiger. The first 4 mask options on the Montex set cover the same tank at different points in its service. Which is kind of neat. The ASK masks for the AVG Hawk are for the Nationalist stars. That should help when it comes time to build the GWH kit. Canopy masks for a couple Tamiya kits. The P-51 ones will be used on the Cavalier Mustang. Some armour bits. Lastly the Infinity Vampire courtesy of the recent Lightning Deal at SB. There's an RCAF option so I know what I'll be building.
  24. I have a couple of the Red Fox sets but haven't tried them yet. I wonder if they feel that the material isn't quite right for belts so that's why they haven't done them?
  25. Thanks Ron! I've never seen the kit contents so that's good to know.
