  1. Sounds just like my bench Ernie. If it's clean, it only stays that way for a few minutes.
  2. I had the last couple days off from work. Sue wanted a storage bench by our front door. I used wood that I brought home from work. It was leftover from when the shop closed so after lots of cutting, sanding and assembly, I made the bench. In the front hall. I also made a cubby that will go above it. Just need a couple days of warm weather so I can apply a coat varnish and they'll be done.
  3. I had the airbrush out for some work on the Whirlwind so I thought I'd clear coat some cockpit parts. These are the ZM F-4EJ parts with the kit decals.
  4. Great paint job Peter. The camo looks great to me.
  5. Thanks Scott! I'm thinking I'll do something similar with the Aires burner cans on my next one. Might as well try and make use of them.
  6. It would be interesting to see if they have made any changes to the moulds.
  7. Peter, it's never easy fighting an illness, be it cancer or a heart attack in my case. But it helps when we have family and friends who we can rely on to help us through those tough times. Great to hear Diane is fine and you as well.
  8. Thanks Peter! It's slow progress but I'm making some all the same. Speaking of which, I got the rear fuselage section glued together. The engine nacelles aren't completely circular which is probably due to the moulding technology of the day so I've used some strip styrene to fill in the gap and once dry, I'll reshape it. To hold the strip styrene in place while the glue sets, I'm using a bunch of small paint clips. Looks like I'm doing acupuncture on the Tomcat. More cat time too...
  9. Talk about hen's teeth! It's always interesting what you can sometimes find on a random search.
  10. Finally a smidge of progress to report. Wings are together. They needed some filler on the join line so that's drying. Once I have them smooth, I'll start painting them as they have to be done before installation. Next up, my order from BNA arrived with the Reskit burner cans. I have the Aires ones but they're a bit small. Here's a comparison with the Reskit on the left and the Aires on the right. Close-ups of both. You can see the step around the Aires one. The Reskit are a perfect drop in fit. Lastly, I assembled the rear coaming for the canopy. Why they had to make it out of 4 parts, I don't know.
  11. Yikes! Not sure what else to say. The partial rigging idea would be extremely tempting to me.
  12. Nice progress there. The gear looks suitably beefy and very reminiscent of the Tomcat's landing gear.
  13. Trying to get to the workbench but alas, I've got someone running defense. To make things worse, she then proceeds to shed and get her fur on everything.
  14. Me three! Used their F-4 intakes several times and wish they were still around.
  15. I haven't noticed any tendency to pull to one side but I'll have to check it out next time.
  16. I was looking at that too. But nothing in stock that I want at the moment.
  17. I finally broke down and picked up a set of RP Toolz punches. Martin whispered in my ear that I should. Or was that just my inner voice? Speaking of BNA, my order from them arrived. Tracks for my LVT Exhaust fro my F-14 as the Aires ones are too small in diameter. Weathering pencils Some scribing templates.
  18. Some dealerships have customer service figured out but sadly most don't. There's a reason folks refer to them as stealerships. The closet I've come to that is when I got a call that the delivery truck was downstairs with the car I'd bought and if I could come down to meet them. Like getting a pizza delivered.
  19. My mom's two Honda have the lazy gas pedal too. One is a 2018 Civic hatch and the other is a 2021 CR-V. The CR-V also has all the driving nannies on it too. You can turn most off but then I'd have to turn them all back on for my mom as she doesn't mind them. She's got a lead foot too.
  20. It's amazing how fast an order from BNA can arrive halfway across the world and yet something 45min away can take days to go 60km.
  21. So true. My sis and her husband went and looked at the new Pathfinder last year. The first thing the sales guy said to her when she told him they were interested in it was that the transmission was no longer a CVT. They had replaced it with a traditional transmission. Mercedes used a CVT on their first gen B200 subcompact hatchbacks here in Canada. Same thing, they were fragile and when they broke, the car became scrap as they were too expensive to fix.
  22. The first gen Juke had a couple hotter versions. North America got the the Nismo version which was around 220 HP. Manual was FWD only or if you picked the CVT, you could get AWD. I'm not sure if this was available in Europe or not. The second was a limited production variant built in the UK called the Juke-R. It had the entire drivetrain from the R35 GTR dropped into it. So AWD, manumatic, and 600+ HP. And a paint job that Darth Vader would have loved.
  23. Rog, that's the new Juke? They don't sell them in Canada any more. We only got the first generation of them and even then, we didn't get the Juke-R.
  24. My Tomcat is fighting me as well so I know what you're going through. But you're getting through it faster than I am.
