  1. I would say if you're planning on a metallic finish then yes the LP paints will be far superior to the X ones. The metallic particles in the LP paints are much finer. If you're doing a solid colour, the X paints are fine but I would recommend letting them dry longer before you handle them.
  2. She's right, you need to finish that Avenger. You really have an eclectic mix of toys there.
  3. Some lovely planes there Scott. That second one looks huge.
  4. That looks great. I need to send Tim the N tail. Life's gotten in the way so I haven't had a chance to get to the post office. Hopefully later this week.
  5. You'd have loved meeting my in-laws old neighbour. He had so many RC planes that he had a custom trailer for them. The one he showed me had a 10' wingspan. Serious monster.
  6. Hey @ScottsGT, you didn't say if the Amphicar was a no so I found one for sale. https://www.broadarrowauctions.com/vehicles/sf25_r004/1964-amphicar-model-770 Just trying to help out. Great deal on the socket sets. I just picked up a new set as well but nowhere near that price.
  7. Same here in Toronto. No snow but it's -11°C, -19° with the windchill.
  8. Well, hopefully a sanding stick can fix the problem. Or maybe Kotare will before production.
  9. Dare I ask how many cases you're getting? Does Kotare offer a case discount?
  10. So they're like the BDR patches on the Tamiya F-4 kits.
  11. That's a different parts breakdown from the 1/32 kit so looks it might be easier.
  12. Nice assortment there Rob. I'm not sure I could manage 1/43 without feeling like I'm Godzilla trying to put it together. I read somewhere that Ebbro may have closed up shop. If so, that would explain their scarcity. Mr Color Leveling Thinner is pretty much sold out in Canada at the moment. My LHS says there's a shipment arriving in March.
  13. Any blood splatters would be probably underfoot. So not really visible. Here's the pilot figure who's in the same scale.
  14. Assembly on the Gouf is now done. Just need to add the decals. Some weathering too I imagine.
  15. Did she say no to an Amphicar? You could try to get one of those instead.
  16. Nice subject choice there John. I did the 1/32 version a few years ago. It was my first full resin build. I ran into a couple challenges. The biggest was the landing gear. On mine, it's so fragile that it won't stand on its own. It's collapsed twice, once shortly after completion and the second time right after I fixed it. It's now on a stand. The other one was figuring out a way to fill the seams in the engine intakes as there are large bullet fairings in the way. I ended up gluing the leading edge together, filled the seams and then inserted the bullet fairings in from the trailing edge. You do have to pry apart the rear edge to make this work. Some folks have cut a hike through the airbrake wells to do the same thing. Carl
  17. Wow, that's definitely one of those nail biting moments thinning the hood down. Knowing when to stop before you make a hole can be quite the challenge.
  18. If you're like my son Edward, they're more a "what's inside the box?" mystery solved with a screwdriver. Scale looks to be 1.2/1 or thereabouts.
  19. It definitely looks the part.
  20. After numerous leaks, Nintendo has officially announced the Switch 2 will be coming out this year.
  21. That internal frame around the windows looks daunting. Nice work on getting it to fit.
  22. Wow, some crazy typos there. I'll need to fix those to make it readable.
