Great work on the Hellcat Rob. Thanks for sharing how you do it. Carl -

Got the bench cut and fitted today. Went easier than I hoped. I was half worried I'd get the angles wrong and it would be either too big or small. I used a strip of 2x3' mounted to the wall as a support. They're anchored to the 2x4s behind the drywall -
Our cat Sunny has gotten quite the reputation in the neighbourhood as an exceptional ratter. When folks realize he's out cat, they almost always say he's doing a great job killing rats in their yard. One morning last year u was looking out our kitchen window when I see something fly straight up out of the ferns. Then a few seconds later it happens again. I go outside to see what it is. Sure enough Sunny has caught a rat and is throwing it up in the air over and over again. I guess that's what happens you have a rescue "barn" cat. Carl

Martin, I've got a bag of ready mix for that very reason. Just wanted to start getting things out of the way first as we also have to move our oldest into his own room. Some of it will go into the space I recently vacated. -

Thanks Phil & Harv! I'm going to leave it as is. The rest of the basement isn't finished either. In fact, only two walls have drywall on them. The worklights are quite a bit brighter than what I had before so pot lights would be over kill. I will probably paint the floor where the new concrete was poured though. -

Thanks Peter! The best part is the space was all previously boarded up so it's a bonus and lets us organize the rest of the basement better. I went ahead and worked on getting some of the drywall up tonight. There's just one piece left but it'll be the most challenging as I have to measure and cut out the spot for the switch and outlet. With the corner done, I hung the lights up as well. At this point, I put the bench back together. It just fit in the space. I've got a 1/2" on either side. With my Arttystation back in place. The rack of paints on the right side are the ones my boys use so those will now be on the bench instead of on the floor beside it. It's finally coming together. Carl -

More progress on the bench. Got the wiring done thanks to the help of my neighbour. There's a new light over where the paint bench will go and another for the work bench itself. I just need to do the drywall tomorrow and I can start putting my bench back together. -
Never a good day when we lose a model company. Just got their F-5F kit too. Carl

Thanks guys. The thought of the rust weakening the tank has crossed my mind. It looks to be fairly thick so I should be ok. There's also the case around it should something happen. I've have a second compressor which I haven't used yet. With my future bench setup, I should have easier access to both so that will make it easier to switch between the two.

So with my workbench down/disassembled for the next biti thought I should take a look at my airbrush compressor. I've never really given it a second thought since it's just worked for the 30 years I've owned it. The moisture trap was a rusty colour until I realized it was full of rusty water. I opened the tank and this is what came out: I ended up pouring about a litre of rusty water out of the tank. Guess I should've done this sooner. I'll see how it works after u get my bench back up and running.

Rog, it's not just enthusiast cars or collector cars going up in value. We bought our 2009 Honda Fit (Jazz in some parts of the world) back in 2018 for $4,000 CAD. It had 80,000 km on it at the time. We sold it last month at 111,000km for $5,800. My '91 Honda Beat I got in 2007 for $7,600. It's now worth around $9-10,000. Not bad for 14 years and 25,000 km later. I certainly wasn't expecting it.

Tamiya's original release of the 934 included road car parts. I kept those and was planning to get another one eventually. What caused me to change plans were the Martini decals I had. They were old and I wasn't sure if they'd hold up. There are some AM Martini decals available but they were around $100 and I was getting ready to buy them. But they were done by small companies who I had never heard of so quality may not have been any better. Then I saw the new 935 release was coming with Cartograf decals and it was $180 for the kit. So I got a 2 for 1 that way.

Very nice kit there Rob. Not quite nose flattening but I remember seeing this kit in my cousin's bedroom and being so jealous of him. I finally ended up getting one in my 20's along with the Jaeger Meister 934. Sadly I made a right mess of the 934. I picked up one of the reissues of the 935 last year so now have two to build. I'll be commiting some heresy as one will be done as a road car. By the way Scale Motorsports made a detail set for the 935 but hold onto your wallet as it's $800 USD. https://scalemotorsport.com/products/porsche-935-big-scale-super-detail-kit Spot Models makes one too that's much more realistic at €250. Very nice. Did you replace the tow cables and if so, what did you use as they have a very convincing sag to them. -

The paint bench space is getting closer. I got the framing for the new walls done today. The silver duct is going to be the exhaust venting for when I paint. Wiring is next and then the drywall. -

BlrwestSiR replied to Bomber_County's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Phil, the Panther tracks went together fairly easily. The pins were evenly spaced so that they matched the track links. You glued 5 at a time if I recall correctly which made them go together fairly quickly. Their Sherman tracks were a bit more involved but again I didn't have any problems with those. -

Nice! Hopefully there's a jig included to help with assembling those tracks. I've used their Panther tracks and they went together fairly well. Carl -

BlrwestSiR replied to NigelR32's topic in Modelling Discussion
There's a new option for the Lancaster cockpit. Robert Mrowzowski is making a resin cockpit for the Lanc As you can see, it replaces the pilots station in the cockpit. I'm not sure if it fixes the height issue of the platform or not as it seems to replace just a section of it. You also need an AM IP panel for it too. https://www.robertmrozowski.com/https:/www.robertmrozowski.com/shop/1-32-scale-avro-lancaster-cockpit-kit/ Carl -

Bill, I've used a mishmash of both Metric and Imperial since I first learned measurements. I think it's a Canadian thing. I buy liquids in ml and L, fruits, vegetables and meat in oz and lbs. Oh and milk here comes in bags ,not bottles. AS for height, I'm 178cm and still have to duck in our basement so can only imagine your predicament. Carl
