  1. Harv, it's 1/48 but the detail is incredible.
  2. Well, it's finally here. The plastic bits are stunning. So many tiny bits and all finely moulded too. This is going to find when I get my bench back. Carl
  3. Paul, knowing what the parts are, I'd go with the PVA glue. I find the viscosity great for headlight guards as you've only got the tips to put the glue on and it won't run everywhere like a CA might. Plus it has a bit of flex to it when dry in case you bump them. Only downside is it takes a bit longer to dry. Carl
  4. That looks great. Nice to see you overcoming all the hurdles the base kit is throwing at you, nevermind the resin. Carl
  5. I used CA on the few 3D printed parts that I've had. You could use epoxy as well but may be messier. Carl
  6. I don't think so Peter. Look at the new kits coming from Europe. Special Hobby's Whirlwind has just started shipping. Same with ICM's A-1H Cobra. Then there's JetMads and their Viggen and Lear jet nevermind the other planned releases they have. I think the Japanese manufacturers might be taking a break but others are picking up the slack. So where's my CF-100 dammit??? Carl
  7. Happy to help. I'm in Toronto, Ontario. Carl
  8. My LHS had one built up already. It looks good indeed. They've got it listed for $135 CAD which is around what the F-14s go for here.
  9. Rog? It does look pretty cool so depending on the price I may just get one.
  10. Amazing detail on the kit and you're doing a great job of it Mark.
  11. Looks fantastic Vandy. I did the same plane but used Zotz for the decals. I didn't add the extra tanks on mine though. Carl
  12. Somewhere. Best proof of that is there's room for the chair underneath.
  13. That's the plan Phil. The bench is getting moved from the middle of the basement where it currently sits to one end. I'll be building a separate bench for painting too which should either: 1) create less mess on the building bench Or 2) let me make a bigger mess on the building bench due to more space. Hopefully it's the former.
  14. I haven't had much to contribute to the thread as well, everything is on my bench. The Corsair is under there somewhere along with everything else in the vicinity of my bench. That's due to the ongoing reorganization and renovation in the basement I'm hoping to finally get the renovation part done this weekend. Then I can finish the reorganization and finally get back to gluing bits of plastic together.
  15. Martin, are you kit bashing the Revell and Trumpy kits?
  16. Interesting to read that. I've only built the Dragon P-51 so will be curious to see more of this.
  17. Hope that you find a job Rog.
  18. I had the same vinyl Horizon Models kit. Mine wouldn't stay standing. The body always collapsed on itself due to the vinyl not being strong enough to support itself. There was one made by Argonauts that was partially resin but they were expensive when they came out and I can't imagine the price now if you could find one. I took a quick look in the box, it's seems to have decent detail to it. I'll definitely do a WIP when I get around to building it. Carl
  19. I got a discount coupon to HLJ a little while back and used it to get some kits I probably wouldn't have otherwise. I went on a Space Battleship Yamato splurge and got a couple to add to the stash. Starting with a couple of their MechaColle box scale kits. The Dreadnaught has parts in it for you to connect their 1/1000 kit of the ship to the matching Andromeda and re-create a scene from the series. Speaking of the Andromeda, I got the most recent release of the kit which allows you to build any of the versions seen in the show. Then, I got the Final Battle version of Yamato herself. Up-armoured turrets and additional AA guns are the main differences. One more SciFi kit, and it's one of a classic subject. Well, classic if you grew up in the '80s. Nice to finally get a IM ED-209. Following Jeroen's Do-335 build, I grabbed one of the HK kits. Lastly, another 1/32 kit. I need to find more references on the tiger striped version included in the kit.
  20. Glad you got it sorted out Harv.
  21. Looks great so far Cees. The fit looks pretty good too. Carl
  22. Last of the V-8s.... Not really but it reminded me of that scene.
  23. Hubert, thanks for the info on the wing tanks. I wonder what they'll look like under a coat of paint. Carl
