  1. Oh nice one there Phil. I'm thinking of something similar for my Takom 1/16 jeep. I'd love to do the one used in NW Europe with the gun shields but Sol only does it as a complete kit and not a conversion.
  2. Wow, that's going to be a challenging build. Can't wait to see you pull it off Mark.
  3. Definitely a different camo scheme. You're doing a great job pulling it off Chris.
  4. Looks very nice there Kevin. How do you get the antenna connection mid- way down the long one? I've never figured that bit out.
  5. A great milestone there Peter. The wings are absolutely covered in bumps and lumps. Almost hard to call them wings.
  6. PW, it is indeed an M60. Definitely makes it look different.
  7. Link and length tracks. I painted them in Dark Iron. First side is done. A bit fiddly. But I think the second side will go easier knowing how these went together.
  8. I did debate it. My plan was to do one row and if I didn't lose any, the second. That worked out but then I knocked a couple off attaching some other parts. I found one but not the order.
  9. Talk about tiny parts. The surfboard has PE wing nuts to hold it in place The commander's cupola has 16 brackets that go around the vision blocks. Unfortunately I've already knocked off and lost one of them.
  10. I think that's an F-104 Starfighter.
  11. Wow, what a fantastic trip Maru. I was going to ask if you made it to Akihabara. I went back in 2007. It really is an incredible store. Happy birthday too!
  12. Wheels are on. As are more hull details.
  13. That certainly would be.
  14. Could be. I think mostly it's kits that I have in the stash that needed a slight push to build.
  15. This is a side build while I wait for assemblies to dry on the Sheridan. It'll be OOb to make things easier. I hope. Looks like I know where the Dragon DS styrene has been hiding... One nice thing is the rubber tires are separate from the rims. Makes painting much easier. Like so:
  16. Same here! And welcome aboard!
  17. Paul remember the old Tamiya kit. There was an article in Fine Scale Modeler on how to fix it. Mostly the hull was out of scale due to the motorization. As for the new Tamiya kit is supposed to be quite nice. It's a Vietnam era version and the Rye Field is the later one so you have your choices. There is some AM out there for it to improve details on it including metal barrels. The Rye Field kit doesn't seem to have any AM for it but in building it, I can see that very little is needed. Maybe a metal barrel.
  18. I got one of the big hurdles in a tank build done. Well for me anyways. I have completed painting the road wheels. The Sheridan doesn't have that many thankfully, just 10 pairs in total. Since I had the rubber black out, I painted some other rubber wheels. First the rubber black is painted. Then I use a circle template as a mask spray the inner wheel section.
  19. An amazing looking print. Can't wait to see this.
  20. Great job on the cockpit Peter. Not the easiest thing to give an all black cockpit some visual interest but you've certainly pulled it off.
  21. Looks very nice.
  22. Sad but true. A couple years ago a woman was pulled over on the 401 Highway here in Toronto. She was driving with one hand out holding a snow brush trying to clear her windshield of several inches of snow.
  23. Thanks Martin! One thing I didn't know about the Sheridan is the surfboard (wave deflector panel thingie) had a window in it. Which makes sense as it allows the driver to see where he's going. I glued them in place on the front of the hull. The turret is a multipart affair. Thankfully it's broken up along panel lines.
  24. Mark, that's an impressive looking Tuskan Raider. 1/6 is a fairly large size so it'll make a great looking display.
