  1. That certainly would be.
  2. Could be. I think mostly it's kits that I have in the stash that needed a slight push to build.
  3. This is a side build while I wait for assemblies to dry on the Sheridan. It'll be OOb to make things easier. I hope. Looks like I know where the Dragon DS styrene has been hiding... One nice thing is the rubber tires are separate from the rims. Makes painting much easier. Like so:
  4. Same here! And welcome aboard!
  5. Paul remember the old Tamiya kit. There was an article in Fine Scale Modeler on how to fix it. Mostly the hull was out of scale due to the motorization. As for the new Tamiya kit is supposed to be quite nice. It's a Vietnam era version and the Rye Field is the later one so you have your choices. There is some AM out there for it to improve details on it including metal barrels. The Rye Field kit doesn't seem to have any AM for it but in building it, I can see that very little is needed. Maybe a metal barrel.
  6. I got one of the big hurdles in a tank build done. Well for me anyways. I have completed painting the road wheels. The Sheridan doesn't have that many thankfully, just 10 pairs in total. Since I had the rubber black out, I painted some other rubber wheels. First the rubber black is painted. Then I use a circle template as a mask spray the inner wheel section.
  7. An amazing looking print. Can't wait to see this.
  8. Great job on the cockpit Peter. Not the easiest thing to give an all black cockpit some visual interest but you've certainly pulled it off.
  9. Looks very nice.
  10. Sad but true. A couple years ago a woman was pulled over on the 401 Highway here in Toronto. She was driving with one hand out holding a snow brush trying to clear her windshield of several inches of snow.
  11. Thanks Martin! One thing I didn't know about the Sheridan is the surfboard (wave deflector panel thingie) had a window in it. Which makes sense as it allows the driver to see where he's going. I glued them in place on the front of the hull. The turret is a multipart affair. Thankfully it's broken up along panel lines.
  12. Mark, that's an impressive looking Tuskan Raider. 1/6 is a fairly large size so it'll make a great looking display.
  13. Probably hard to tell but I added more PE details to the hull. Lots of small bits. Most have a positive mounting location so that made it a bit easier. I then gave it a quick pre-shade and some paint to check things out.
  14. Thanks Peter! I was lucky I caught my mistake in time and able to fix it.
  15. That's coming together nicely Dave. Which is good to see since I have a few of them in the stash.
  16. Looking good there Chris. Any reason you just have flaps on one side?
  17. Since the Flanker is just sitting on my bench it was easy to take a look at where I'd left off. I'm still amazed at the quality of the fit. This is Mnibase's first ever kit and they have exited something truly magical. Dropping the rear intake trunk into the nacelle, the sidewalls are almost flush. There's a seam for sure but there no step at the join. Then the upper section drops into place. From the underside, you can see how clean the fit is, even before glue. Finally, the MLG bay roof goes in next. Again, no glue yet, just dropped in place.
  18. The floatation screen covers are now in place. I had to trim one tiny section a bit due to operator error but otherwise they fit nicely. I then started folding and fitting the PE screens and hatch covers. The screens have an edge to them that needs to be folded down. That was a bit of a pain. Once done though, they are a perfect fit onto the relative panels and grilles.
  19. Scott, that's a spooky looking bench. Unnatural almost. But for a good reason. Get through the cruises and the doctor stuff. Just make sure none of them have a phone# that's 1-800-DOCTORB (the B is for Bargain!).
  20. Any one know of decals or paint masks available for the AH-64Es that the ROCAF fly? They have a tiger stripe camo with a very loud tiger mouth nose art. Would be cool to do one up.

  21. Wow, So having built so many of these Corsair kits, I bet you could do this in your sleep. Or at least with your eyes closed.
  22. I wonder if they're flow lines from the injection moulding process? The odd angle on the one between the two hatches would suggest that to me.
