  1. Started this a while ago , it's me working out the best way of doing Light Gull Grey and White paint schemes ..which I think I answered using Tamiya acrylics on the recent Skyraider. So in sequence this was before the Skyraider , I used MRP paint of the grey, pre shaded way to much and set it aside and concentrated on the A1. .Then I squirrelled and did the Ferret , and built a SH Tempest for a GB elsewhere. so we are back here again ...and it's a Hobby 2000 Polish repop of the 2003 Hasegawa tooling . I've bought a bunch of ordnance to fill it out a bit . 'Eres the look I'm going for .VMF 235 , Da Nang 1966. Yup , clean... is for kittens IMHO .. Same Squadron - lots of bombs and dirt from the Zunis
  2. I sold one of my tank models to the bloke who runs Armourtek , they are down the road from me in nearby Hampshire . He paid a lot less for the 1/35 than I'd have paid him for one of his 1/6th .
  3. That couple looks familiar
  4. Nah Hood had better lines 😝
  5. That's a beautiful finish , very crisp lines esp for 1/48
  6. Always liked Scharnhorst more than Bismark, and I think Lutjens commanded both in his time . Norway , Channel Dash or North Cape era ? Personally think you are v brave , that lil destroyer drove me nuts, as much as I'd like to make a bit ship , that'll be one for my retirement days .
  7. They stand alone , are frightened by no one and will flup you up if you mess with them . A lot to be admired in a nation of 5 million . And they produced the most successful sniper of all time , who was "just a gifted hunter " .
  8. Your work is superlative as ever .!! Love a Brisfit as well .
  9. Glad you picked this one back up , I love the Finnish approach to war ....take any old crap no one else wants , and then beat the living devil out of the Russians with it !!
  10. Always strikes me as funny, I bet the original props studio settled on some random colour that they had a bunch of lying around from the previous project , and 60 years on it's the subject of much study and speculation Heard similar tales about the original Michael Myers masks , which was Captain Kirk facemask adultered in an afternoon by the props firm ( they did a Nixon and Spock to , the director choosing Kirk ), and now people spend $1000's replicating them .
  11. Mottling looks nice ...that softener - looks more like battery acid . Sorry to see it's taken a whack out of your model .
  12. Thats is lovely paint finish going on there, looks straight outta the studio l Something I struggle with ...and why I stick to matt 'n mud !
  13. Waaaay over weathered .....no real aircraft would ever look like that etc etc bluh bluh ....😝
  14. Hey LauraGBTbot is back - shouldn't we be charging it for the development time ?😀 God knows what it's up to data mining this forum . Hey Laura can you re write that in the third person instead of the first ? Nope .....AI .....is just a regurgitative machine ...
  15. "Felt like a like bar fight" ......falling out of a moving car ....whats a heavy bar fight feel like ..freight train ? 😀
  16. Yeah odd how politicians seem to work as if it's their ideas that matter - not the people who elect and pay for their fat asses. Oxford near me is working hard to ban cars altogether to make it easier for Chinese students to cycle around whilst taking all out science back to their corrupt regime .
  17. Flipping heck thats a bit crazy . It ranover your foot ?😳 bit more than painful im sure
  18. Life too short for clay barring anything ..really nice pony car though 👍 We have have very few decent classic cars in the UK beyond "classic English sports car" , which is fine if you're ok with a small rusty car and a 100 BHP engine . I look at what corvettes go for in the States and weep , same money here buys really mediocre stuff . Some of the Jags are fun , but most stuff is well beyond the average Jo's budget . Mind you our government is obsessed with getting older cars off the the road for some goddam reason . My wife lived in Mass in the 1990's and used to run old beaters, her favourite being a 4th gen Mercury Cougar she bought for $300 and ran through two winters .
  19. Following this build with interest - The other decal option for this one is 263 Sdn...which fits in with my interests in RAF Harrowbeer in Devon . I'm slowly building aircraft that served on the (now deserted) airfield I used to visit as a child and where I learnt to drive. I might cheat and go with the bugle outfit rather than tackle this one . 🫣
  20. The thin end of the wedge ......rivetter ......I make armour ...dioramas ....not aircraft .....to much Koolaid
  21. Maun Parallel pliers ....£30 .....made in the UK ! Came across them on some vidya , grip better than regular pliers, very useful for straightening wire, copper sheet , no jaw marks etc , and big in the jewellery making community so I thought , why not give 'em a go?
  22. Make an interesting diorama that .....
