  1. Not built a Starfighter for a while, this will be a NMF I reckon ....& shades of Bob Calvert from my youth .
  2. Thats is a pretty special P38 , congratulations .
  3. In the UK a microlight is defined as being under 450kgs ...a Sopwith Camel with guns came in at 500kgs ...crazy
  4. That came out great , I love the paint fading effect , and all the masking paid off well . Lovely result. I've got the doggy old Revell IB 1/32 to get around to one day , 🫣
  5. Awesome , thanks !!!!
  6. Various Walkarounds all taken by me ...mainly Bovington / Samur/ Ardennes . Also been to Munster ...and took about 3 pix .... Panzer II's Panzer III Panzer IV Panthers- Samur / Bovvy / Ardennes King Tiger Bovington Walkaround Flak 38 Samur Walkaround Chieftains
  7. Yes... I couldn't wait .....and yes ....very reminiscent of Tamiya's old Chieftain for fit and detail .
  8. It's about the only armour you can drive single handed on UK roads without drama, although cameras are advisable . A Fez should do 40 ... Did watch a bloke and his wife reverse their Ferret into a Landrover once and then try legging it . She claimed she didn't notcie, which at 4 tons is probably valid.
  9. I'm a little out of touch but last time I looked they were £8-10K. I passed on one without an engine about 6 years ago that was £1500 ...which would have been ideal had I had the space at that time , as the plan was to fit a 300tDi and autobox out a Discovery . I met some fellas who had done this conversion before , giving a higher torque , same (ish) rev range so the speed is similar , but with quadrouple the MPG. Just didn't have the workshop space at that point. Link to said machine PS I lusted after a Stalwart for about ten years , but again it's where to put it .
  10. One for Brits I guess ....I'm not a big fan of Airfix at all , but sadly a huge fan of Ferrets ...nearly bought a real one a few times . So , flimsy box, plastic is harder than usual grey Indian chewing gum, has the feel of the early 80's Tamiya plastic . Details ore typical Airfix , simplified , a little over heavy ; compared the Miniart Dingo I built a while ago no real comparison , Miniart wins hands down . Cheap though, only 25 of your British Pounds. Three colour options covering early mid and late service ( Bronze Green 1961, Batus in the 1980s and UN in Cyprus 1974) Can only be built as a MK2 with the silly turret, you could leave it off , but the interiors are different on the MK1's - three seater / radio fit etc . Maybe they will do one later ?? No figure , again a shame, as cold war Brit figures are thing on the ground. Suspect this is a great weekend build in the making as it's only 187 parts and tiny with it. Decals look ok .
  11. Just bought the Airfix Ferret ..even though I hate Airflups.....I remember when you could buy the 1:1 "rough" for £500 back in 05/08 .
  12. The opportunity to weather something to death I've found Hobby boss stuff generally has a decent fit , so hopefully so with your build .
  13. I'll get a bigger Skyraider ....
  14. Fun build , in the colours of Lt Wagner who shot down a Mig 17 ! Typical Tamiya , even for 1998, fell together with no filler , no grinding or excessive filing needed . Just build n paint and then weather.
  15. Plus, Harv was a very proud US Veteran. Do we know in which service - a "USMC" ,"USAF" or "Navy" or "Army" etc GB might be more open ? Even is we restricted it to a specific period .
  16. Feels like me building ship models ...
  17. Uncle Nightshift is a good tutor , maybe check out Panzermeister36 ( Evan) as well , another talented armour man . What do you like building , if this is number 6 ...?
  18. A good effort , on an old kit. White dots on bolts, and oil shaded bumps - been watching Martin Kovac by chance ? 😄
  19. Thats a beauty Rob.
  20. This is one of Tamiya's finest according to he reviews I've seen . Uncle Nightshift built one last year. Will be glad to hear your take on it , as i don't do Russian armour , so maybe a good reason to give this one a go !
  21. Bought a Gaahleri airbursh . A lot of positive reviews of these 50 buck airbrushes on the web. Having graduated form cheapo Chinese airbrushes to IWATAS some years ago , I'll be interested to see how this performs . Two sizes of cup , .35 and .50 needle , spare seals , a unique air nozzle design, & comes with quick release connect . Feels heavy and quality, and I can use my small paint cup from an Iwata if I don't fancy their larger ones. Even some lube for the weekend !! Interesting Warrantee - if any of it fails they just ship you a new one . For the price, I reckoned it was worth a shot .
