  1. Nice job with the coverage on the yellow Peter. My least favourite colour to airbrush I think.
  2. Just finished this one. The trailer will follow but I need a break to do something other than rust for a bit! Done OOB, it goes together well and is pretty straightforward to put together as you can do it as a nice break down of sub-units. Idea behind it was to try some rust techniques so I decided to do a 'what if' civilian version which has seen a bit of abuse down the years. Done using Mig Ammo paints and weathering products other than Tamiya clear orange for the roof lights and buff for the dust on the tyres and lower bodywork. It's not perfect but I'm pretty happy with it for a first attempt. Biggest regret is not swapping out the supplied string for the winches as it's just too 'hairy' to look great. Gus
  3. CHET tractor done. Will post more photos in the finished work thread.
  4. Thanks guys. Martin, you'll enjoy it. It goes together very well and it's a nice subject - a little less 'boxy' looking than some modern armour.
  5. I'm sure I've seen smaller gliders operating out of our local airfield! 🤪
  6. I'm in for both giving and receiving please Ernie. I'm going to gift some books if that's okay. Ra'anan Weiss - F-16C/D Barak in IAF Service (IsraDecal Publications) Andreas Zeitler & Andreas Klein - Vought A-7 Corsair II in Hellenic Air Force Service (Fox Two Books) Shlomo Aloni - Israeli F-15 Eagle Units in Combat (Osprey Publications)
  7. Oh, that is so tempting. Must keep the lock on my wallet closed until after Xmas!
  8. I used this method on my two AMX builds after Carl's previous recommendation of it and I have to say it works a dream. 👍
  9. The pre-cut glass looks like a real bonus. Screwed up a few previous gunsights trying to cut thin acetate to the correct shape.
  10. Very nice Mark, the leather coat looks very good. Great film, although the second one wasn't nearly as good.
  11. Thanks Peter
  12. Current progress on the CHET. Having fun with this. The fragility of the Ammo paints can be pain in some applications but it perfect for this sort of chipping work.
  13. Really interesting Ernie. Hadn't realised they were quite as advanced as that. The mics in the cowlings is hilarious but deadly serious in intent. Yeah Harris was single minded to the point of monomaniacal! Max Hasting's book Chastise about the Dambusters raid paints a pretty clear picture of what a piece of work he was but acknowledges that he was exactly the type of personality needed for that role.
  14. Nice introduction. That's a cool first build of a kit with 'issues'. Even for a fairly small airframe it takes up a reasonable amount of room in 1/24. 👍
  15. Took the kids to the Tank Museum in Carentan last time we were in Normandy. They had a half-size replica Tiger which would be a great runaround in some of the traffic round here.
  16. Stunning result. The paintwork and weathering are just spot on. 👍
  17. Happy Thanksgiving to all our transatlantic members. 🥳🦃
  18. Thanks Jeroen. Never tried the aqueous Mr Hobby paints. Too many options....
  19. Nice thin layers, what paints are you using?
  20. The Welsh are either paying the refs or are supremely irritating, how else can you explain half the teams they've played this year having a man sent off!
  21. Looks like someone stuck the nose in a pencil sharpener! 🤪 As Rob said, not the best looking Mustang.
  22. Yeah, both sides going into the Ashes with a mess behind them. Seems like Cummins is being lined up to take over but that's a lot to ask of your No. 1 strike bowler, especially with not the best injury record. He's always seemed a decent bloke, other than his and Hazlewood's farcical denials about knowing anything about the sandpaper.
  23. Sorry to hear of all your troubles Ernie, but glad things have mostly worked out. As others have said, what's happened to your Mom is a disgrace but so difficult to get accountability from these places, especially in these circumstances. Glad the business has come through. From some of the pictures you've posted you and your staff have some serious skills which it would be a crime to lose. My mother-in-law has been in a care home for 7 years which is almost unheard of over here, but thankfully it's a good home and she's a tough old bird. I swear if the bomb drops it's her and the cockroaches afterwards...
  24. Looks good to me. 👍
  25. Good to see you back Jeroen. Cool looking bike! The house doesn't look too bad either...
