  1. Got the main components of the excavator arm assembled. Everything goes together smoothly. The hard part will be making sure the hydraulic rams are still moveable after primer which is up next. Then it's a base layer of dark rust, chipping fluid and the top coat of orange.
  2. Another beautiful result Kriss. The paintwork is superb and a testament to your skills.
  3. Interested to see how this goes. The Tamiya Chieftain was the first kit I built when I got back into the hobby for some peace and quiet when the sprogs were little.
  4. Pity about the missing canopy. I once did that with my wife's engagement ring and we found it 3 years later - I was not popular! The digital cammo looks really good and I wouldn't have noticed about the colours if you hadn't mentioned it.
  5. Looks amazing. Love the water pouring out of the front tanks.
  6. Weathering on the wheels and tyres looks so good.
  7. So, after finishing the Viggen I wasn't sure what to do next. I wanted something simple to just throw up OOB and toyed with the Eduard 1/48 Mig21 but decided I wanted to do that proper justice, so ended up with this. Started by getting the cab assembled. It's the Hasegawa Hitachi Zaxis digger which is something completely outside my previous experience but I thought it would be a bit different. Everything so far fits very well. I didn't fancy masking off and painting all the glass frames given this is supposed to be a quick, easy build, so went with the kit decals which are ok but have quite wide carrier margins which are visible at some angles. I did try trimming them on the rear window but the decal then fell apart when trying to move it into place, so left them on all the bigger ones.
  8. Glad the build is taking your mind off your sad loss. We lost one of ours on Armistice Day last November and I still miss him like hell. They just get under your skin so much.
  9. Wow, super airbrush control there. 👍
  10. Euro rather than a pound coin. Someone's been on their hols? 😄
  11. Great pics. Weird mix with kid's ride-a-longs and play houses and plastic garden tables scattered between the planes.
  12. Looking really good. the wear on the turret and hull looks just right.
  13. I do love a good balustrade. Our last house had a beautiful pitch pine one and it was the only thing I was really sad to leave behind when we got our current house built.
  14. No name has ever been released for that accident but I'd come to the same conclusion that it must have been Alan. Such a damn shame. I know that bit of road reasonably well and he probably wasn't even at fault, it's a horrible bit of road for cars crossing the centre line.
  15. Nice looking result. The aerial looks like it's made of scaffolding poles but that's par for the course in braille scale.
  16. Looks great Carl. Going to take up a bit of space in the cabinet. I thought the Viggen was big but when I compared them the F15 is still bigger.
  17. Oops, didn't catch that one. 6m sheets seems like a nightmare for handling but less joins to cover I suppose. Funny about the ceiling height as over here the trend has been towards lower ceilings - my parents house is 120 years old and has 13 foot ceilings whereas ours is 20 years old and has 8 foot ceilings as it's just considered to be another 5 foot of dead space that you have to heat. Probably not such an issue in your climate... 😁
  18. Looking good. Interesting to see that the plasterboard is installed horizontally. Over here the sheets are oriented vertically, hence the standard 8 foot ceiling height in new builds.
  19. Looking forward to seeing how you tackle that camouflage scheme in 1/72.
  20. Aw no, that's terrible news. I always wanted to try and get together with him as he's the nearest other member to me. I hope his family are okay.
  21. Looks great Hubert. Certainly a helluva lot better than most government contractors here could manage. 😁
  22. Another stunner as usual.
  23. Ditto 👍
  24. I wish someone would do a decent big scale Jag but I think that's a forlorn hope. I've looked at reviews for this and the KH kit recently but seeing your toils with this I'm glad I passed.
