1/48 Wellington Mk.X (He727 NA-K)

The plate for the base looks amazing. As James says, that PE looks insane. Rather you than me. I get mad just with a set of etch seatbelts!- 304 replies

Wow, that's a real find Jeroen. Great image. People sometimes are shocked by what was possible 'pre-digital' but those photo-recon cameras were the best around.- 304 replies

That's right. The velocity of the bomb was so high it basically punched a hole straight through the bottom. Another Barnes Wallis special.

Nice catch Danny. Just watched a documentary last night on BBC4 about the 617 squadron operation to sink her.

Those lenses look really good. Coming along very nicely.

That's a serious amount of plastic, even as it stands partially tooled. Might have to rejig the house to make room for one of these!

Sounds interesting Rob. Always good to channel a little weirdness once in a while....

Thanks Jeroen. Do you use the brush on version or just small spots from the standard applicator?- 304 replies

That looks ridiculous. Are you soldering them? There doesn't seem to be much of an attachment point for glueing them.- 304 replies

Superb. If you hadn't followed along with this you'd never know this was entirely scratched.

TA-152 Zoukei Moura 1/32, My First ZM
GusMac replied to DocRob's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Hi Rob I agree that the boundaries between colours/washes can be problematic but I've never used a combination with too stark a difference, just subtle shade changes, and it's been okay to now. I can see with a very pale wash like this that there may be plenty of issues. Never tried anything too heavy but my planned next build is a Greek A-7E and they are well beaten up, so might have to think about how I go about that. After all the grief the ZM kit gave you earlier in the build you should be very happy with this outcome. Cheers, Gus -

The pale wash looks very effective Rob. Using a variety of washes over the different colours/surfaces definitely works best for me and I find the Ammo sets good for giving a decent mix for this.
