Bit lacking in windows! Especially for the crew! Never built an airliner kit but I presume all the windows come as decals?

Trumpeter TBM-3 finished
GusMac replied to JohnB's topic in LSM 1/32 and Larger Aircraft Ready for Inspection
Lovely result John and sooo fast. Takes me a minimum 4-6 months to do anything this size. -
Sounds very interesting. Must try and visit next time we're across.

That looks amazing Cees. Puts everyone's worries about space for the new 1/32 Lanc and Liberator in perspective. I'm assuming you don't keep these at home!

1/24 Airfix Scale Mosquito build
GusMac replied to PeteF's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
I agree Pete, the Vallejo metallics are great, easy to use, no odour and dry well. Used them on my F-15C and F-16 and they are very robust. Engine looks great. Dirty without being filthy. -
Do like a Laphroaig as well Rob - my wife hates it unfortunately. Bunnahabhain is worth checking out as well if you like your whisky Islay style. Pity the spell checker doesn't like them so much!

Rob, Skye and the Lochaber area around Fort William are 2 of the best biking areas around. Fort William often features on the world tour. As is often said, the rain we get provides the raw materials for the distilleries. If you ever make it back to Scotland I can recommend Arran for the cycling and the whisky.

Thanks for highlighting that Maru. Not always the cheapest but invariably in stock and always reliable. Condolences to the family.

Might need to gun the throttles on the next take-off to overcome the lack of lift!

Similar to harv, I've heard tomato ketchup works well. Probably similar to the acidity of the coke

Nice looking bikes Rob. The motor seems like a good idea. There's some great mountain biking country around us here in Scotland but I suspect you have the better deal weather-wise!

Big plane, small instruction book! You'd think they might have printed it in A4 size to ease the eye strain. Heck, with a box that big they could have printed it A0 size!

Looks great on the base Jeroen. Your nice straight roads there make it looked almost like a tiled base.- 304 replies

Very nice and excellent weathering. Does look a bit like a flying corrugated iron shed though! -
Well the box is suitably large as well Ernie! Picked up one of these on a daft whim! Hobby Boss M911 C-HET. 20% coupon on eBay so got it for just over £50 shipped from dawngrocery in China. Had been pondering the Meng one but it's almost double the price, so the tight Scotsman in me won out. Haven't built a truck in 30+ years so could be interesting! Have a vague plan to do an M60 as well to stick on the back but the tractor and trailer might take me long enough!

That truck has a face only a mother could love!

Lovely smooth looking paint job John.

I think that'll buff out.....

Thanks Harv. -
Love the video Martin. Bet the crew had to put their teeth back in after that landing!
-
Looks great John. Hope the masking comes off the turret ok, some of it looks well buried now.

Thanks all. Barry, it must be true that 'the third time is the charm' then! It seems the tolerances are just so tight that the slightest misalignment somewhere can throw it all off. Planned next build is a Trumpeter A-7E so given the issues with that this will seem like a dream. -
Hi Anyone any suggestions - for the last couple of days I've been unable to post replies from my Android tablet. I use Chrome on it and I can click into the reply box but no text appears when I type. However, Chrome is fine on my PC, hence this post. I'm sure it must be a settings type issue but any ideas welcomed. Thanks, Gus
