P-51 racer Bardahl Special

Test fitting of the cockpit section to the wing. Took a bit of trimming on the underside to get a good fit. Okay now though I think. If you will click on the 1st pic you can view as a slide show with MUCH better resolution. 😉

The Revell kit I'm using lacks the dorsal spine so I will mate a Tamiya tail section with it. Fit is amazingly close which is a GOOD thing! :) (It sure helps to have MANY left over parts from previous builds to scrounge from!)

Great looking pit with awesome details John!
Thanks for the tipp with the slide show. Much more details visible!

Good to know that Revell and Tamiya match that good!

Thank Kai! The slide show feature really helps folks to see the good and the bad! LOL It's a good thing for this build that Tamiya and Revell match well. Otherwise I'd put the kit on the SOD. :)

Awesome progress as always and you have easily conquered the Revell kit. The parts you have replaced worked out perfectly, including the exhaust. I struggled with the revell ones, including drilling them out and yours look so much better.

Keep 'em comin

Thanks Peter. Yes, those kit exhausts are pretty bad and a real PITA to drill out. I feel your pain!!! (If you want, I have enough of the right type spare Tamiya exhausts I can send you. Just PM me.) :)

As always your progress is amazing and never a compromise in the high level of workmanship.

Excellent work John, I really like what you're doing here. Funny how a Mustang cockpit looks so different in grey versus interior green!

Thanks Frank. I have to agree, it sure does look different. :)

Obviously you are proud of yourself. But let me ask you John , what does it have to do with your build?

Not proud of myself Martin, not at all. It's just unfortunate that it all got blown out of perspective. I tried to be nice about the Red Baron post but that didn't suit him and you know the rest.
