JohnB Posted January 5, 2022 Author Posted January 5, 2022 Test fitting of the cockpit section to the wing. Took a bit of trimming on the underside to get a good fit. Okay now though I think. If you will click on the 1st pic you can view as a slide show with MUCH better resolution. 😉 7
JohnB Posted January 5, 2022 Author Posted January 5, 2022 The Revell kit I'm using lacks the dorsal spine so I will mate a Tamiya tail section with it. Fit is amazingly close which is a GOOD thing! (It sure helps to have MANY left over parts from previous builds to scrounge from!) Â 7

LOL It's a good thing for this build that Tamiya and Revell match well. Otherwise I'd put the kit on the SOD. 3 1
Wingco57 Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 Not the first time Tamiya and Revell match very well. I always thought Red Baron had a Griffon up front. 2

JohnB Posted January 6, 2022 Author Posted January 6, 2022 I'll replace the kit exhausts with Tamiya exhausts. MUCH better I think. 7
Peterpools Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 JOhn Awesome progress as always and you have easily conquered the Revell kit. The parts you have replaced worked out perfectly, including the exhaust. I struggled with the revell ones, including drilling them out and yours look so much better. Keep 'em comin Peter 3

Keep 'em comin Peter Thanks Peter. Yes, those kit exhausts are pretty bad and a real PITA to drill out. I feel your pain!!! (If you want, I have enough of the right type spare Tamiya exhausts I can send you. Just PM me.) 1

Daywalker Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 Excellent work John, I really like what you're doing here. Funny how a Mustang cockpit looks so different in grey versus interior green! 3

Martinnfb Posted January 7, 2022 Posted January 7, 2022 Obviously you are proud of yourself. But let me ask you John , what does it have to do with your build?   1

I tried to be nice about the Red Baron post but that didn't suit him and you know the rest. 1
