Hete we go again

The 1/32 Eduard Bf108 with all the goodies i could find. Also got the Mushroom publications book. Mostly for the rivet drawings.

Also found a an autograph of Wendelin Trenkle. The Messerschmit testoikot that first flew a Bf108

Bit of a shitty start. Two rudder pedals have photo etch upper parts. I lost one and i don’t even hve a carpet. Searched two days. Nothing. Now made two new parts from leftover PE.

I hate when it happens, fortunately these upper parts are relatively simple to replicate. With your skill set Jeroen, it should be breeze.

Cheers

I guess we can't blame the carpet monster but maybe he has a cousin who lurks in the far recesses of wooden floors. Glad you were able to make a new set for the rudder pedals.

Wendelin Trenkle autograph surely adds to the historical nature of the build.

Keep 'em comin

The Eduard panel does seem to have their characteristic 'graininess'. It's hard to get a good look at the Quinta one in the picture. What's the problem with it Jeroen?

I don't know what it is with these Eduard IP's. I had very good ones and others heavy rasterized, like yours Jeroen, but with the other two options, you should find a a match. I often spend a lot of work on an IP's, only to find out, that you need and endoscope, to ever see them again. What about visibility in the 108?

The thing is: i like the glossy bulged glass on the Eduard PE panels. The difference in gloss and mattish finish. But i prefer the detail and smoother print on the Quinta one. I have three panels to choose from so we’ll see. Might go Quinta.

There is nothing which can't be glazed with some drops of Future / Pledge on the instruments. With multiple applications, you receive the wanted bulged effect.

Started work on the Quinta seatbelts. Fragile buggers, but they do the job.

Should look fine under some matt coat and washes.

They disintegrated. Kept breaking up at the curves. Even without touching them. Lovely work on your pit by the way!

That's extremely disappointing and concerning as they aren't cheap either!. The side panels took oil washes nicely after a clear coat

I'm building a Dragon Bf110 at the moment and have the Quinta set, don't think I'll be using the seat belts though after seeing your nightmare and stick to HGW instead.

Sorry to see you had issues with the Quinta seat belts. I've used them a few times now but in 48th scale where the detail and look is no where as critical as in 321nd scale. What's your course of action now?

Keep 'em comin
