Phil, it looks like Royal Models do a PE and resin detail set for the PT boat. There's one on eBay for sale at the moment.

Lion Roar also do one but I can't find it anywhere at the moment.

Carl

Thanks Carl , I’ll look into it…..

Only a couple hours left on the Flammpanzerwagen and the Panzer 4 L , I thought it was about time to crack on with the GB. First off I did the display cradle as the hull is a little large to balance. The cradle needed some love but is now good. I started on the hull as didn’t want to have this to do with any of the deck fittings on. The trim at the waterline (called ?) now fixed plus the drive shafts. I’ll wait till the end to fit props. Fixed the sprue gate positions on the hull. That’s about it for a few hours modelling. Apologies for not being very exciting……DAK figure looking on……..

This thing is a beast!  I didn't realize how long this kit is.  Wow...

I didn’t until I pulled it out of the box, around 28” ……….I need to think hard about displaying it when it’s finished. I’m getting concerned with my lack of display, some cunning thinking has to be done…..

A few hours at the bench, I’m finding there are a few part lines to clean up and ejector positions to file. The instructions are a little vague especially where holes have to opened up. Added some homemade AM to the ready locker and done a lot of research. This is so big I want to add as much detail as I can find……..

Gaz, you certainly do. I’m doing a lot of research to add that extra detail……just takes time finding the references……

It's like my Vosper, adding those details really makes a difference.

Just keep adding the details - an amazing build will be the end result. Looking mighty good

Thanks Peter, I’m rapidly running out of research material. I have very little time to model and even less to research. So I’m going to concentrate on the build and add detail if it appears without an inordinate amount of bench-time being sacrificed. I need to photograph at some point the Panzer IA, IV L, Flammpanzerwagen and the Wildcat, where does all the time go……..

So I had a day off work today and I thought great bench time. It’s now 5.30pm and haven’t even seen the bench let alone sat at it………..why oh why………always other “stuff” to do…….

Don't feel bad, Phil.  Sometimes I need to shoot someone on XBox when I should be modelling.  Current game of interest is Isonzo where Carcanos and Mannlichers rule.   ...and my lawn is looking really shabby...     ...and my club meet is today....   ...etc...

Ok guys, update at last. With Griffon not supplying a PE set for this, I’m having to do a little scratch building. The reference photos are in pretty short supply other than overall shots. Did find one of the helm. Do this is my poor interpretation of it. The right wall of the cockpit is yet to be fixed. This is due to a warped section of the turret section. The overall shots are the elements just laid in and not fixed. The helm has been fun but I think I’ll leave it there. Dead lights in using Future also ventilators. Every part has to be cleaned of mould steps and impressions, some misaligned tool halves. The DAK figure adds some scale. Fun build, hope you guys like………….solved the problem of bolts and rivets. I swapped the tracks of Takom Mark 1 for AM, so the left track links are peppered with rivets etc. A quick shave off and then place as appropriate or guesswork…….E6675E5A-C7F6-43FD-9CC5-AAEEBF560468.thumb.jpeg.105b117432fb52105eb5121c444a0abc.jpeg
