marcopreto Posted February 6, 2023 Posted February 6, 2023 This is my first 1:32 scale aircraft ever! All the impressive builds I've seen over the years have inspired me to try this scale and I've picked up Revell's Bf-109 G-6 kit to try it as it is very affordable and of decent quality. I'll try to post regularly, but spare time for our beloved hobby is not always available. I leave you with a couple of photos of some sub-assemblies, with the fuselage halves dry-fitted and the cockpit main components. Cheers 11 1
RockieYarwood Posted February 6, 2023 Posted February 6, 2023 Nice project Marco, I look forward to following along. Have you picked your subject markings yet? Cheers, Rockie 2 1
marcopreto Posted February 6, 2023 Author Posted February 6, 2023 Yes, I've decided to depict one of 3./JG26 aircraft, flown by Hptm. Klaus Mietusch (profiled in page 18 of Kagero's Units #6 book). Cheers 5
RockieYarwood Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 Double Chevron, yellow rudder and lower cowl? Sweet! 3

marcopreto Posted February 25, 2023 Author Posted February 25, 2023 Quick update, with the almost completed cockpit (I still need to add the gun sight). The cockpit is dry-fitted in the fuselage halves and the fit is almost perfect. I hope to post another update soon. Cheers 8 1
marcopreto Posted April 7, 2023 Author Posted April 7, 2023 Little progress was done in the last few weeks. Here are a few photos of the model present state. I hope to be able to share some more progress soon. Cheers 7 1
Peterpools Posted April 7, 2023 Posted April 7, 2023 Marco Right with Scott and Gaz, nice progress on the 109, especially it being your first 32nd scale build. The real fun is painting and decaling in the larger scales ... just a bigger pallet to work on. 2 1
marcopreto Posted April 10, 2023 Author Posted April 10, 2023 Before starting the camouflage application, I still need to work on a few detail. Today I've managed to add the hydraulic lines on the landing gear (just 0.4mm copper wire and aluminum tape). I hope to start painting it soon (I still need to redo a few panel lines and add some cabling in the gear well). Cheers 9

marcopreto Posted April 16, 2023 Author Posted April 16, 2023 Little progress during this last week! A bit of detail added to the main gear wells and some base color on the main landing gear. I hope to post more soon (and to show some considerable progress). Cheers 6 2
marcopreto Posted April 25, 2023 Author Posted April 25, 2023 Quick update! Overall basecoat of RLM76. I hope to post more soon! Cheers 7 1
marcopreto Posted June 19, 2023 Author Posted June 19, 2023 Spare time for the hobby is not abundant but once in a while I manage to sit at the workbench and relax a bit! Basic camo colours are almost complete (still need to clean up some overspray and repair a few issues) and I hope to start mottling painting soon. I hope to share some more progress soon! Cheers 8 1
marcopreto Posted October 20, 2023 Author Posted October 20, 2023 This model has returned to my bench! The mottling is basically completed. I hope to post more updates soon! Cheers 7 1
marcopreto Posted October 25, 2023 Author Posted October 25, 2023 Here are a few photos of my Bf109 G-6/R-6, a bit closer to completion! Decals are applied, but some still show a bit of silvering that will be addressed asap. There are also several details to be painted, before adding some weathering. I hope to post more soon. Cheers 9
