Big 1/16 Puma. Probably gravitating towards the bench sooner than later. image.thumb.jpeg.dca9a654d59ad88183a6e2adb71ad792.jpegimage.thumb.jpeg.6321560f09c8c4fc3f7a6267b7ff0322.jpeg

And these. Not a fan of the E model Eagle, but the story of these brave men and women made me want to build one . Now I need to find one.image.thumb.jpeg.478ebe89d3c7bdc0b3ab1553578dd720.jpeg

I think 2mm, as  there are 25 pairs of "steps"on one side of the tool. However

The opposite side has no steps and I suppose any size between

1 mm - 50 could be formed.

Another self Christmas present reached my doorstep, but in fact, it´s also a story about being a coward. I always wanted to build one of the famous black and gold Lotus racers and therefore, the new released Lotus Type 77 was an obvious choice.
At the day, I ordered, MFH had a message up on their website, that they will re-release a short batch of Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 Stradale kits in January.
That was a car, I always wanted to build. It came so close to what I "designed" when I was in my late teens and I had a knack for car design. It had all the ingredients, the shape, the visible cylinder funnels, large air intakes, plexi covered front lights ... , so I was more than tempted by that re-release, which could mean, it´s gone forever afterwards.
I searched for build logs and only found one, a double build on YouTube and both builds, by a resourceful modeler showed gaps in the rear bonnet at the end. I couldn´t live with that and the swinging doors with tiny hinges also gave me the creeps and I CHICKENED OUT :icon_eek:. Gone is the car of my dreams and a bit of self esteem.
Anyway, I´m happy with the Lotus and the parts count and being without carbon fiber decals seems to indicate a relatively easy build.

I borrowed this picture from the MFH homepage, to show the car.

1/12scale Fulldetail Kit : LOTUS TYPE77

This would have been the Tipo33, only to have a picture of it.

Too bad for the Tipo 33. It was the epitome of the late 60s / early 70s sports cars …

Ow well, you have a great project with the 33+44 = 77 !

Nothing wrong with a bit of number magic, but what will be the 44 car?
I hope not this one:

On a side note, I wiggle a lot with the MFH Cobra Coupe at the moment and it´s not easy to get the doors and bonnet aligned perfectly. There is a lot of test fitting, sanding, routing and scraping involved and that´s maybe the main reason, why I let the Alfa pass.

Congrats on the self-present Rob!  Too bad about the Tipo 33 - what an amazing looking car, damn!  Never knew these existed.

Though, I wish I didn't see your post.  I went to the MFH website and the website of a US distributor and see they are taking preorders for a 1/12 1960 Corvette - I might have to break my New Years resolution on not adding to the stash!

Since my family was begging me for gift ideas, this showed up under the tree.  I've always loved the color scheme and skis on this one.

Still thinking about that MFH Corvette C.1 though...hmmm....

Another Christmas present arrived lately. Actually it was a great Black Friday deal of the Fifie fishing vessel, which I wanted to have in my net since a while.
It is noticeable designed by Chris Watton for Amati, who now does his own business with highest quality approaches in form of Vanguard Models.
Another real benefit of the kit is the 1/32 scale, large enough to detail and widespread enough to source some decent figures. I eventually plan to build the Fifie in a worn, used look, which would be completely new to me, considering wooden ships.

Nice pickup Rob!  Very cool subject.  My interests these days go more towards working vessels than the X number of cannon English warships.  Looking forward to seeing you work your magic on this kit!

This could be my next wooden ship build, before or after finishing rigging on my Duchess of Kingston. The scale, the subject and not a lot of rigging ;) triggered me with the Fifie.

I keep forgetting to post these.  I made a post last month about TenaControls sale.  I kind of went nuts, but could have easily spent 2-3X as much on lighting kits for my sy-fi kits.

This one is for the 1/350 TOS Enterprise.
IMG_2833.thumb.jpeg.e3b7a9af4dadd53c9daab62d6009665a.jpeg

of course I had to upgrade and get the remote kit

IMG_2834.thumb.jpeg.4604abd6e703502eb238145f62de69ca.jpeg

And this is for the 1/35 or 18” Lost In Space flying saucer.

I needed a lot more.  Maybe later.

Didn't know there was a museum in Anstruther or we would have gone and visited. We stayed there in 2018 and went to a great fish and chip shop in the harbour.
