Happy belated birthday Kevin. Always good to have family members, who appreciate the hobby. With my wife, it´s a bit different unfortunately, she accepts me building kits, but dislikes the spendings and only once made a kit as a present for me. In fact, it´s the priciest, I own, the HMS Sphinx from Vanguard models, a wooden frigate kit.

Cheers Rob

Kinda/not the same with mine the last kit she bought for me was the Trumpter "Liberty Ship" after the Son and I had gone through the D-Day museum in New Orleans for like the 3/4 time always adding and the Liberty Ship section was very interesting.Shirley hated me building and painting in the house that she so encouraged the shop to be built out back.I sometimes think she regrets(probably pass that) it seeing I only spend maybe 1/2 hours  a day on TV and it's usually YT,in the 90's we watched TV together but you had better programming "Xfiles" was one we enjoyed.;)

Saw this cockpit upgrade set for the ICM CH-54 and decided to get one.

It's absolutely stunning. It basically replaces the entirety of the kit cockpit.

Today my order from Plaza Japan arrived (ordered Dec. 25).

Not their fault. They closed down for a time late December. I didn't notice.

Anyway, finally bought a Tamiya 1/32 Spitfire; their Supermarine Spitfire Mk.

IXc (60319). I have been hearing how good these kits are for years.

      I also got a 1/12 scale M2 flamethrower by Tomytec (LA101) I'll find

a use for this thing😉

Also another "Egg Girl" resin kit by Hasegawa . I'm not sure I care for

this one , but I like the Claire Frost character.... Bought it anyway.

The great thing is I was able to buy the Spitfire kit ,the other kits, and

pay for shipping for less than the Tamiya Spitfire alone would have cost me if I had

bought it at, let's say, Sprue Brothers for example !

Nice assortment there Paul. Is the flamethrower part of the Little Armoury series?

I remember when the Tamiya Spitfires were around the $100 CAD mark. I picked up most of mine for under that but now, they're generally $40-50 more.

Yes, it's from the little armory series. I think the Spitfire was  $49.00 USD on Plaza.

It looks like a wonderful kit. I was just digging through the box minutes

ago. You'll notice I removed the pictures of the Egg Girl.....I don't think

many forum members share my Enthusiasm for these ! 😀

BTW Sprue Brothers has the spitfire kit for $ 154.99 USD at the

moment.

Paul, they're a nice kit that's for sure.

Some things to watch out for when you get around to building one.

- The wing ailerons mount with PE and metal rods. They can be floppy and not hold their position without a dab of glue.

- The  wing leading edge inserts for the cannon barrels isn't the best fit. I usually make the upper side flush and then fix the imperfections on the lower side which is less visible.

- The engine bearers are ABS plastic so use Tamiya Extra Thin to glue them on. Even if you don't plan to have the cowlings off, they're needed for the exhausts. Speaking of the cowl panels, they can be tricky to align neatly but it can be done.

I think I'm up to 9 built with another 6 in the stash so I guess that means I like them.

As for the Egg Plane girls, I don't have any issue with them. I think they're fun and if they  sell well enough to help keep Hasegawa in business so much the better.

Promised myself no more than 4 kits at a time this go around.  Build one buy one.  Then I had a few extra minutes sitting at the gate waiting to depart the other day and came across a good deal.....

Also had some decals to grab too.

This came today.....

From Tamiya, it's their; German Kubelwagen Type 82 Africa-Corps

W/Feldmarschall Rommel (36202) in 1/16 scale. I was glad to see these

back in stock on some online stores. Mine came from Squadron .

Besides the Rommel figure, there's a driver figure included, and lot's of accessories and detail including a full engine. A nice kit.

A Soviet GAZ-67, or even better, a Japanese type 95 Kurogane would be

welcome (by myself,at least) in this scale.

Nice grab!!!  Tex Hill autographed a copy of his biography for me years ago.  I still need to build a better copy of his plane.  Let me know how you like the GWH kit...  I think @Peterpools also did this kit a while ago.

Edit:  @Clunkmeister also has a build thread on this kit.  Great info on both threads!!

It's still <$49 there.. Trying. so. hard. not. to. buy....  But then Carl says he has 15 of them and this would be ONLY two for me... so I'm still WAYY behind him.... and its Tamiya...and its an Mk. IXc to go with the Mk VIII from the Christmas Raffle.......

The PlazaJapan search engine is frustrating.  Searching "F-15" hardly turns up a kit, but lots of other stuff.  But "F-15E" turns up some kits...  Can anyone recommend a good 1/48 or 1/32 F-15E Strike Eagle kit?  PJ has the Bunker Buster version but that seems like overkill.  I'm looking to show this inflight so don't really need all of the radar/avionics stuff to detail.  (Not that I know hardly anything about the F-15 TBH).
