Yesterday I visited the Aviation Megastore in Aalsmeer to pick up the  Brassin 109 gun pods...

IMG_0047_zps784315bb.jpg

And came home with....Brassin gun pods for 109, Tauro stencil decals for 109/110 (need them ffor my Dragon 110), Techmod swastikas, more HGW seatbelts, and...

A Special Hobby Brewster Buffalo with Dutch (East Indies) decals.

Also stumbled upon Luuk Boerman from Dutch Decal, really nice bloke...tremendous knowledge.

The Aviation Megastore is such a candy shop, but I was strong...didn't buy the HPH Me 410 and I resisted buying a Brassin 109 engine.

Was tempted to buy a Hasegawa Stuka for the Junkers GB, but when I checked several boxes....the decals were old and yellow. Decided not to buy one.

Yes, you are right. Living less than ten minutes away is sometimes not so good for the wallet.

Doogs, when you can, let me know what you meant about the cockpit being disappointing. Was it hard to work with, or just the fact that it's so spartan?

Thanks Matt,

I'm surprised nobody has made a resin replacement yet. I do see what you meant though. I promised myself to just work with what I have. Hopefully I'll listen to myself....

Hey Ralph

That Neo airbrush is pretty sweet. I got one of those from Hobby Lobby--and used their printable "40% off" coupon from their website to boot.

No more excuses. Last piece needed to start my Eastern Front GB projects.

To hell with the paint set! I like the shirt!

(Don't really mean that about the paint set though...)

I popped over to the RAF Museum, Hendon, this morning to visit the IPMS Show that was on and, whilst mooching around the retailers booths, came across this:

The "Frame" and felt backing are cr*p ( ;) ) but the Vickers Gun and plaque look pretty.  The frame etc will serve as a decent "template" for my local framers.

I'm building a nightfighter version of that for the Forum Group Build. There are pictures detailing my progress posted in the GB section.

It's a great model for better than the original Ju88A model Revell put out! The cockpit and fit is far superior!

Ralph.

Ok, So Revell's Ju88 A4 is better fit than Revell's Ju88 A1?

Snagged these Zekes on eBay for $80 each, ship included.  Both were shrink wrapped and came from a smokers home.  Had to remove the wrap...much better now.  Always wanted the A6M5.  The A6M2b will be step one of my future build project "Pearl Harbor Planes."

Will use these on my FW190C and P47D which will both be NMF.

In my modest opinion yes. Right off the bat the bottom fuselage fit better.

Rick-

$80 each for those kits is a GREAT deal (even if they do smell like smoke)!

This is the last kit I got (toward the end of January). Paid $74 (with shipping) on Ebay!

It almost doesn't fit on my desk...

I got these today at a swap and seller who had a little garage sale. I nearly picked up a Stuka for the group build, but I just gotta stop at some point. I've only built 3 kits of mine this year but added 8 to the stash. I have to build a few more but I've just about filled my cabinet, so I might need to make some storage space for older builds.

Recent and last eBay great deal for a while as I have eight models waiting in the wings now, lol!!!

DeHavilland Mossie!! I was going to order a nose kit for it but might reconsider and build it as the "City of Edmonton".
