BlrwestSiR Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 A small order from Great Hobbies. Some Despise brushes and a panel liner. The brushes are an interesting approach. The handles are aluminium and you replace the brush tip. Next up are some of their paint markers. Lastly some dry brush paints and the AK sand I need for my M551 Sheridan build . 8
Spitfire Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 For a future build of a Hobbycraft P51A, from Aerocraft Models, spinner and blades. Cheers Dennis 8
BlrwestSiR Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 I didn't know Aerocraft made a prop for the P-51A, thanks for pointing it out Dennis. 6

BlrwestSiR Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 They're a thick acrylic paint. Looks like they have a fairly fine pigment to them. I'll let you know how they work out. 5 1

Carl Never knew about the Despise brushes and an interesting approach to keeping them in tip top shape by replacing the brush tip. Despise product line continues to grow with a lot of innovated products. 3

ScottsGT Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 My Phase Hanger Resin stuff from their super secret banner sale showed up. I had no idea this was the old Two Mikes resin operation. Always wondered what happened there. 9

belugawhaleman Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Two orders from Plaza Japan came today the first delayed by the Typoon. Well, lots of items including a pair of "Egg Girls" but mostly Tamiya kits and accessories. Two of these are classics; The Brewster Buffalo and the Sd.Kfz.222. There is also the re-release of their Ki-46 this time with the Type 95 Kurogane. Also Tamiya's new Leopard 2 A7V this kit looks impressive!. I also got Jagdpanzer IV/70 (V) Lang. I bought two tamiya accessory barrels to go with these. From Finemolds , an Ohka trainer and a set of seat belts in 1/32 for Japanese aircraft. 5
belugawhaleman Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 Got this last week but didn't post as I found one piece defective. It's AFV Modeller's driver compartment for the 1/16 Das Werk StuG III. Well, an email to AFV and a replacement was quickly sent out. Actually, 2 parts were sent ( a spare). Very pleased with products and service! 5

belugawhaleman Posted September 14, 2024 Posted September 14, 2024 It's been some time since I bought some Friulmodel tracks. I recently ordered these: ATL-02 PZ III/IV (1938/1941) ATL-28 PZ III/IV (1944/1945) ATL-30 PzKpfw. II / Wespe, German Halftrack L 4500R Maultier I also got a mask set for the Tamiya Ki-46 Dinah from Eduard (EX179) 3
Peterpools Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 Paul Glad to see you are stocking up on needed AM so when needed you won't have to hunt for them. 2
ScottsGT Posted September 23, 2024 Posted September 23, 2024 I thought I’d never be lucky enough to post this…. But after searching for over 10 years, Rare Plane Detective listed this on eBay. I put a stupid high bid on it, and even went back and raised my bid higher within the last hour. After the hammer dropped and shipping and taxes I paid $65 for it. No way in hell was I going to go cheap and miss out. Now I can finally pull that DC-130 from the stash and build it! 6

It looks like persistence paid off! I'm not familiar with this c130 variant, I'll google it for sure and wait for your build! 1

But I’d rather build the odd. 2 1

One reason I like Dragon and they’re Magic Tracks but I do have a real problem on my last Tamiya kit in the stash with vinyl tracks. That’s it on Tamiya AFV’s never again…… 2

One reason I like Dragon and they’re Magic Tracks but I do have a real problem on my last Tamiya kit in the stash with vinyl tracks. That’s it on Tamiya AFV’s never again…… You're welcome to your opinion but seem uninformed regarding Tamiya Afv kits these days as most include their link & length tracks including some of their prior kits which have been re-released now with link and length tracks. Their Somua, Mk Iv, char b1 bis, and russian Matilda include working tracks. Tamiya makes working track kits for their Panther Tanks. Their Sherman tanks do have rubber tracks , but the Sherman track system Never shows sag. Most of the Tamiya kits I buy them for don't need them but I find the Friuls fun to build and I view them as a kit in themselves. Anyway, I mostly buy the Friuls because they weren't available to me before and are still kind of a novelty for me...I like them. All I can say is, you're missing out on a lot of very fine, well engineered kits due to this bias you have. I am now determined Never to buy another kit from Dragon after looking at my Welbike kit in 1/6 scale. It's missing a lot of detail ; an oil filler boss on the crankcase, the projection for the clutch cable on the crankcase, a bracing strut for the cylinder head, fuel connections on the fuel tanks, and the engine manufacturer logo cast into the crankcase is missing..a prominent feature on the original. No decals are provided in the kit despite the original having unit markings and instruction stencils. Also no cables are included. The instructions are very bad and don't include placement of some of the parts. Very sad. I only bought the kit as my uncle brought one back from the war but now, I'll probably never build it. The Chinese Communist Party got me with that one. 2

They were kind of hard to find before for me but there recent availability an some online shops has been great. I get most of them from a supplier that charges a decent price for them....about $ 39.00 U.S.. Sprue brothers charges a bit more. I put in an order from the manufacturer in Hungary for some less commonly offered tracks but they haven't been shipped yet. I find them fun to assemble and I like the added weight they give to the model. 3
