I use the Tamiya for cleaning everything; brushes, airbrushes, tools, and it dissolves superglue off my CA applicators. I use glass eye droppers to measure paint....it cleans those quickly. I'm looking forward to that big Trumpeter kit build! Yes, it's Tamiya's version of Mr Color Leveling Thinner. Works pretty much the same way. I didn't know Tamiya Airbrush Cleaner cleans off CA. I'll have to try that next time.

I'm looking forward to that big Trumpeter kit build! You know, the airbrush cleaner is the same thing as their glue you bought? I quit buying the glue and just refill my glue bottle with the cleaner. There’s a YouTube video where a guy looked up the safety data sheet. It made up of two chemicals. The only difference was the glue has something like 2% more of one of the chemicals than the cleaner. Like cleaner is 50/50 and glue is 48/52. But I’ve never had any issues using straight cleaner. 2

Yes, I've heard that. The only reason I buy them separately is for the containers, really. Sometimes I will refill the glue container with the cleaner. I've tried the cleaner as a glue, but I'll continue to use as I do. The cleaner I think is closer to the slower setting extra thin and I prefer the quick setting, that's all. . I also keep the jars separate because I don't want to contaminate the glue as I often do with the cleaner. Anyway, that's just what I do.
DocRob
Back from my Berlin trip and my first visit to LHS there, I brought back a large array of AM for different kits and stuff for some projects, I have in mind. These are for a long planned under water dio, including a resin steam punk submarine a jetty and lots of fishes and sea live along some figures in 1/35. I first slept in the rancid Circus Circus Hotel in las Vegas and as "good" memories never vanish, I chose the Salvino´s Monte Carlo as a reminder. I somehow like the old Nascar´s and the Salvino´s kit seem to be of decent quality with outstanding decals. Fun fact, the chrome plated parts are real meatal plated, heavy and magnetic. Cheers Rob
BlrwestSiR
Nice assortment there Rob. I'd be curious to see what the Salvino's kit is like. Looks like they could be nice.

I have another one, a Richard Petty 1972 Dodge Charger. Browsing through the sprues shows a promising quality and there are some encouraging build logs out there. I guess, the greatest difficulty will be the body painting, which in both cases is two color, bordered by pinstripe decals, which need to be used as templates for masking. If I understood right, all the Salvino´s kits are limited to 500 items each, but of course, there are a couple of variants for the same chassis, from different years and with different sponsor decals. Some of their kits are based on older kits, but the ones I own are new tool by Salvino´s Cheers Rob 4

PanzerWomble
Bit left field . I bought a bunch of WW1 aircraft prints from 1962, these two being drawn by Roy Cross (of Airfix box cover fame) who died this year aged 100 . Link to bio Bought them loose and now framed these two for my study . I had the Albatros as kid , my Dad had cleared it out of some Chief's Mess refit and brought it home for my bedroom . No idea where it went later on 9

Looks better then most chromed plastic, somehow deeper and more chrome like, less toyish. My second Salvino´s kit is the Petty Charger from 1970 in STP livery. I believe the kits are a bit cheaper on your side of the pond or direct from Salvino´s. Cheers Rob
CANicoll
Thanks Rob, I will check it out. Love Petty's 70 Charger. That is a beautiful car. Nascar.com is selling the 72 Charger for $39USD just for today. Its $50USD on the Salvino site. I didn't see the '70 year but the '72 is pretty close. Nice schemes.

belugawhaleman
Got some more Friulmodel tracks today........I know, so what else is new? Well, this time I ordered these directly from The maker in Hungary. Ordered on the 17 of Sept. they came today ....Oct. 4. Not too bad, I guess. It took about a week to "process" the order..the balance.. shipping time. The ATL-13 for my Tamiya Marder 3. The ATL-59 will be used on my Tamiya Marder 1 .....that kit has excellent link & length tracks but I thought these would be nice. Friulmodel sells these for about $ 29.54 USD.
FullArmor
I have noticed that friul tracks have become expensive to acquire in Finland. Used to get those 30-40€ now 40-50€ range. Finland has decided to increase its value-added tax to balance poor economy😒. Luckily i have lots of stuff already acquire in my stash.🙂

Two other online shops charge about $ 46.00 USD. The worst charges $ 64.00 USD. No, I don't buy from him. Getting them straight from Friulmodel was the cheapest by far......but the long wait. Anyway I have a couple sets on the way . and may buy a third then I think I'm done buying for a while.

The Coors Thunderbird is one one of those iconic Nascar liveries. Like Richard Petty's blue racers or the Dale Earnhardt's black Chevies.
