Administrators JeroenPeters Posted July 6, 2014 Author Administrators Share Posted July 6, 2014 Strolling along.. Pit tub is painted. (Well almost). Not getting distracted with adding too much detail. Just some Airscale placards and gauges. I flattened the rear of the IP with green card, added the instrument housings and wiring. This will be visible from the outside.
RalphSarc
Wow looking very good!! Size does matter after all :-). Love the scheme also. What will you mount it to??
Wingco57
Kicking the habit of adding too much detail isn't it. Cheers Cees
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted July 6, 2014 Author Administrators Share Posted July 6, 2014 Hi Ralph, Not sure what I'll mount it on. Maybe the Tamiya Spitfire mount, but that may be too flimsy. @Cees: The thing is: there is no temptation to add details, since they don't exist yet. Yesterday I was in the hobby store and almost bought HGW harnesses. Almost... Here's some progress on the pit.
Wingco57
Jeroen, Before closing everything up you must have figured it out how to mount it. The Point of fixation must be sturdy enough to take the weight. Even though it is not that heavy. Cees
Administrators James H Posted July 6, 2014 Administrators Share Posted July 6, 2014 Mind if I plagiarise the work on the rear instrument panel? Loving that pit. I've just chucked base paint in the interior of mine. Following this closely.

The model sits on the points and does not need construction. Anyhow.... The fuse is glued now @James: sure! Knock yourself out
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted July 6, 2014 Author Administrators Share Posted July 6, 2014 First basic colors are on the pilot. Next up is detail painting and flesh tones in the face. Final touch will be a matt coat.

Administrators JeroenPeters Posted August 16, 2014 Author Administrators Share Posted August 16, 2014 Hi Guys! Sorry to keep you waiting. Here's where I'm at. First layer of gloss black. Different shades of Alclad. RLM81 and RLM82 to the tail. Much more shading to do and I'm going to weather the Sh*t out of it.
Administrators James H Posted August 16, 2014 Administrators Share Posted August 16, 2014 Loving the multiple alclad panel shades. Real odd with that camo tail!
Grant
Really cool 50 shades of Alclad (Hmm, that'd be a good book title) .. Superb as always Jeroen! Nice stand by the way, where's that from??
