Trying to wipe the glue off.... It did seem to remove some glue at first before hardening into a real mess. Kind of serves me right as I was getting

frustrated and irritable trying to glue the engine screen shown in my picture.

I should have put the model aside....cooled down a bit. Instead I became

careless, an invitation for accidents. Anyway, I ordered a new kit at a good

price and I'll try again. Until then, I'll start a new kit. I'm looking at Takom's

Little G13 Swiss Hetzer.

I've had a few of those spills and even one that seemed worse. After I gather up the troops, walked away for a good few days, I went to work and fixed the mess I created. Once the CA was more then completely dry, I carefully wet sanded the entire area until it was smooth but now was a bit concave. I lightly filled in the offending sink marks with a few light layers of Tamiya White Putty, let dry between layers and gently wet sanded. Took a good few days but the repair work well and the build was saved. Give it a try and I'm sure the kit can be saved.

Looking forward to the start of the build. I normally start a build as you are, sorting through the parts, getting assemblies squared away and cleaning up the parts so when I'm ready to go, a lot of the preliminary work has already been done.

Well, after the SMK fiasco......I started another kit build.

The Tamiya Churchill.. An ancient kit, it has required some putty

on the turret but has, so far, been a quick build.

Looking mighty good and hopefully the SMK is on the back burner and scheduled for repairs down the road.

Off on another PCM adventure, Macchi C.200 Saetta, early days.

Well Peter, the replacement Takom SMK arrived today. I'm going to something a little different with this one. The most common picture

of this tank shows a clean tank; no tools, cables, or storage boxes. These

items added by Takom seem spurious... It's possible that these were added

when this tank was sent to Finland where it was disabled by a mine and

later recovered. I will however add the star decal We'll see. I'll use PVA to

add the photo-etch this time!

Slight progress on the Churchill build......

Road wheels (rollers?) On , and front fenders on. The fenders were a bit

tricky as there's nothing (tabs) to locate them. I would back them up with

styrene strips if I were to do it again...  Anyway,  before I go back home

for a bit this weekend, (still at Mom's) to put some paint on, I'll perhaps

start on the Friuls. One thing for sure, kit technology has come

a long way since 1974 !

Lovely work Mark, I see tremendous effort  placed into this build. The rear deck, armour, stowage , gun , pretty much everything seems to be altered of scratch build. Phenomenal. I would love to see more in the gallery.

That looks neat. For a moment, I thought the utility knife was going to be a wing of some sort.

A complete revamp. Moving around the paint racks, tool organizers and fitting a proper spray booth. Not necessarily in that order. 

Most folks here would say my bench is a bit cluttered, others might call it an unmitigated disaster.

Paint booth in place. This invoiced taking down drywall, putting in ducts and making sure it all worked properly.

A bit more progress on the Churchill...

I did a little more work on finishing the turret. Used gray Surfacer to check

for flaws and did some more filling and sanding. Satisfied with it now.

Also, started putting together the friul tracks for this thing. One side--73

links. Not too bad. Some clean up on a few links. Drilling, fitting and cutting

wire for the links. I found so far two bad links. I wanted to get more done

this weekend, we'll see.

That aluminum finish is spotless .

opened the box with EW-126 and realized that Das Werk made few major errors. 
this aeroplane is documented on few photos and dimensional errors as I had to fix are unacceptable. Fuselage too long, tail section all wrong, belly landing gear compartment fairing missing. 
well few hours of cutting, filling and sanding and she’s getting there.
