On the bench ...a nostalgia build ( I built the Hasegawa F102 when I was 7/8 or so ) and an old tool from Monogram 1980 ..(two things I have decided not to do in '25)😐

..however TBH this is a peach compared to the Trumpetah Flogger I binned mid build last year because is was such a doggy fit I gave up .

Century series rock .

Titanic takes up quite a bit of room...

It's taking shape, but the biggest parts need painting.... and some more metal added to the stern. but hope to get at it after this weekend. Have to go golfing with the nephews!

The lady as she's awaiting more parts!

I've been working on this over the last couple of days.

The original paint scheme in the various greens have me the idea to do it in a splinter scheme.

I'm going to weather this a bit more. @Martinnfb suggested adding a winter wash to it. So that might happen next. Probably with a bit more battle damage too.

I started the Takom M29C Weasel kit shortly after it came out. The tracks and running Gear were a complete mess. The parts were too small and the alignment pins were too shallow to get things lined up properly. Then the link and length tracks weren't a great fit either.

Then FC Modeltrends came out with a one piece track and running gear 3D printed set. I carefully ripped off the kit stuff and after removing the FDM parts from the print supports, I glued those on.

Much better. Now I might have enough encouragement to finish the build.

I pushed the Duck aside for a few days for a change of pace.   Couple months back I bought another RC airplane engine.  Plans were to just swap out known bad issues connecting rods with updated rods and a better carburetor.
Got it opened up and discovered bad bearings.   So it’s all torn apart now.  Waiting on new bearings and a good aluminum cleaner I can use in my ultrasonic cleaner.

The hard part about disassembling these old, well used engines is all the old castor oil that builds up and makes parts stick together.

Ugh… Discovered one of the cylinder jackets has a stripped hole for the head bolts and it was missing the head gaskets.  Another $145 spent…. It’s all boxed up and put away until parts arrive from Japan in a few weeks.

New Cat Carl or new bench companion ?

I've picked back up this ICM Ju88 from the SOD . I don't get on with ICM kits, dunno why , moldings are good , fit is generally ok , but something about their engineering doesn't click with me . Which is a shame, as I'm sure it's just me . I binned their  1/48 HS 126 a while ago , with the faff the wing caused me, just terminal loss of interest .

Finally got this into initial primer , should be on a downwards slope to a completion hopefully

We've had Sunny for almost 5 years now so more of a new bench companion. He hasn't stuck around my bench in the past. Mostly just walked over stuff and then climbed onto the shelves. This is new behaviour for him so we'll see.

In actual bench news, I've started tinkering with the ZM 109 I started a while back. Around when it came out.
