It was a bit of a light showing this year.  But as usual, the builds were truly top notch.

Every year, Squadron rolls out the red carpet and gives its customers the Royal treatment. Dave Klaus, a recognized B-24 expert  was there as well, giving talks on the various versions of Liberators.

I was a bit busy this week without time to devote a full weekend to this, so I met TJTX Tony for a few pints over lunch, made a quick run through the show, and went home

The craft IPA and ambers were good, so good in fact that we attend these shows just for an excuse to lift a few pints. :)

Exactly, I have always admired ship builders, some incredible skills on display there. Thank You for sharing mr. general secretary :)

Very nice kits (although the f’csle shape of the HMS Prince seems a bit wide and « off » compared to my memory of XVII Century ships).

Love the guy diving in there.

Do wonder if the carpet monster claimed the upper torso and that was the fix?!

It’s a great dio. But someone’s gonna have that Skipper’s grapes in a press when they gets back in port.

I wondered about that diver’s upper body as well.

A display of really bad seamanship....

Nice and lively display, but with logical fails. The enormous wake indicates a boat at full speed and that wouldn't be the case in that scenario. Nitpicking? Maybe, but it ruins the otherwise great scene, at least to me.

Cheers Rob

It's funny, you guys are echoing exactly what people looking at the diorama in person where saying.  It didn't do well exactly because of the boats speed and the unclaimed pair of legs.  The Work quality was good, but the story just didn't mesh well.

.Exactly. He’s a few seconds from killing that crew who just survived a ditching.  I actually like the guy diving overboard, but diving off at 25kts into the North Sea? Logic defied.

Yeah, nitpicking for sure from a NON dio builder, but I’ve always felt that a dio should tell a story.  Like this one that tells the story of a Skipper who’s been into the schnapps.

The Black Pearl was the Zvezda kit. Unavailable in the USA and Canada due to licensing issues, it’s available from good Hobby Stores in Russia and elsewhere in the East.  I might just have to grab one.
