I then started painting the canopy by doing an initial coat of black.

While that dried, I started on the decals. They're from Belcher's Bits, the same guy that made the decals for Ernie's Lanc.

Ernie, it's sheet BD24. It covers everything from the early RCAF to the later Armed Forces schemes. There's even one for the RCN which was really tempting.

I took my boys to a nearby airshow today and watched a CT-133 fly around painted in my favourite scheme (the Silver Shark).

Once home, I got back to the bench. The canopy got a coat of paint.

In the famous words of Red Leader, "Almost there...."

Just need to repaint and attach the nose gear doors as the paint job didn't come out so nice.

I'll try to get some nicer pics in the days ahead. Got to say it feels good to have this finished. It's not perfect but I am happy with the way it ultimately turned out.

i love some of these early jets - the evolution in design that happens from the ‘40s through the late ‘60s led to some unique and interesting aircraft.  Love these!

Carl, you're a 'fuss-ass', it turned out just gorgeous, it is beautiful................. reminds me of the ones that were at CFB Cold Lake back in the day...................it looks damn near perfect..........
