Since I'm burned out right now on the Mossie I think it's time for another Corsair (my standby for the burnout cure). In keeping with my usual build process, I have begun painting most of the interior, wheels, canopy, etc. All that will be done and ready when I get to that portion of the build.

Here comes the salmon!

What are your plans for markings?

Carl

Yes indeed! LOL Right now I'm planning on this one. The decals are from HGW and are "wet transfers".

Hi John. Have you ever built a Corsair in RNZAF colours?

Not as yet.

Do you use an off the shelf color for the salmon or is it a custom mix ?

I use a custom mix. RLM 23 red with some white and small amount of yellow added. All Model Master.

Nice! Not many Corsairs with noseart.

Carl

I've never used any HGW decals before. It looks like you have to use a lot of care going by the instructions. We will see!;)

I decided to take inventory of my built Tamiya Corsairs in 1/32.

F4U-1 Birdcage ------- 6 (Not including the one I'm building now.)

F4U-1A --------------- 3

F4U-1D --------------- 3

Plus 3 more in my stash (1 of each).

LOL

Also, 1 Trumpeter -1D built.

Obviously I really like the Birdcage. ;)

Thanks guys. Yes, still using the FineMolds belts. My eyes and shaky hands aren't up to threading the other type. ;)
