Hi Dave You sure about that? I had the kit plus CMK pit a while back (now sold) and am sure i remember dry fitting pit and fuselage and the resin pit is markedly deeper : set lower down than the kit pit Am I going nuts? On second thoughts, don't answer that N

Hi Cees I will leave it to the pros (I am retired!! ) but I do think it is a very good kit and am pleased with my purchase Dave hi mate Yes sadly my canopy had a tiny hairline crack where it attaches to the sprue I have emailed Airfix (last night) and will let you know what they say I imagine I am in a long queue! Cheers N

Ok so having had a look (briefly) through the kit, here is what I will wait for before thinking about building it - turned brass gun barrels; the kit ones ask you to take a 0.9mm drill bit and hollow out the barrel ends yourself - now even if you were happy to build OOTB, on a kit this complex I would not expect this; I think this is a bit slack by Airfix - resin wheels; the usual story - resin ones are just cleaner, sharper and have greater detail - Eduard instrument panel; not a fan of decals here, but that's just personal choice; I will wait on seeing the Airscale decals 'in action' and maybe change my mind? - masks for roundels (Maketar probably make some of these already?) and some more schemes - **proper** turned brass landing gear; kit oleos are split in two part, and will have the inevitable seam line; I would also feel more comfortable having something more sturdy given the size of this kit

the Trumpy G-10 is out, and i have seen them for sale on ebay here not seen a sniff of a review though, anywhere i think the 1/43 scale masterpiece that is Eduard's 109 G-6 kind of wiped everything else off the map!

Need sizes of code letters, Brit, luftwaffe, cross' & codes
nmayhew replied to happy1's topic in Hints & Tips
I think you need to be a LOT more specific, otherwise no-one is going to answer with all the sizes for all the insignia etc So, what aircraft are you looking to make, and that will help people to answer? Is this to make your own masks, or to identify which masks (or decals) to buy? And so on... Cheers Nick -
Mk1 Design 1:32 Heinkel He 219 'Detail Up Set'
nmayhew replied to James H's topic in Aircraft Reviews
I think you were more than generous Jim I think the tyres might have the wrong tread pattern - should be octagonal from memory? Landing gear error is really really poor - all they had to do was spend 10mins googling and they could have found this (and lots of other stuff no doubt) out, and thus avoid these errors -
Well dived!

Talking of shark mouth Typhoons, anyone got pics of one where you can actually see the codes / rest of the aircraft? Also interested in if any of these shark mouths are definitely WWII as opposed to post VE-Day...

Cheers Steve! What are the best documented aircraft with these rockets confirmed??

From what I have seen, the upgrade 'requirements' will be the same as those for pretty much every kit: - gun barrels (turned brass) - tyres / wheels (resin) - instrument panel (PE or decals for dials) - seat (resin) - seat belts (paper / PE) - landing gear (GFactor special please!) - marking options (masks / decals) It will be a measure of the kit's popularity as to exactly what, and WHO, makes aftermarket stuff for this. The Mossie is a good example of this: the mainstream guys have pretty much ignored it. Let's see...

The tubes do look thick but as you say, this is really the only option for most modellers Are mounting brackets resin I take it? A shame they did not do more of this set in cast / turned metal - they obviously have the tech given their (excellent) 109 landing gear set Now, out of interest has anyone actually seen a photo of Graf's G-5, "Green 1" from JGr. 50 with the red tulip on the nose with these rockets??? I have searched everywhere and can only see profiles, so am a little suspicious that this is one of those internet self-fulfilling prophecy type things - if you say it enough, and post enough profile pics, it becomes true!
-
I wouldn't sweat it - when has Eduard NOT produced PE sets for a new aircraft??? I would be more worried about the cost...with every large 1/32 release their prices seem to be going stratospheric!

Don't know but I can vouch for his masks - worked a treat on my ISU-122s!
