  1. Fascinating reading, what a huge mess to clear up, the disposal of chemical weapons is scary reading. Cheers Dennis
  2. Looking through my Hurricane referances, the only change was the anti dazzle shields. Up to the middle of November 1940 the night fighters were finished in the same scheme as the day fighters, then they were finished in a Night finish, this lasted until 1942. Mk. II Hurricanes were used as night fighters and night intruders, the former in all black finish and the latter in grey green upper surfces with smooth night undersides. The Mk.II Hurricane could also carry 44 gallon underwing tanks or bombs. Cheers Dennis
  3. This is the Science museum Mk.I, and looking at other Hurricane photos there is a gap. Cheers Dennis
  4. Now that looks pretty good to me, coming along nicely. Cheers Dennis
  5. They look great, I always struggle with brake pipes. Cheers Dennis
  6. Looking good, I'm glad the Yahu IP fits well as I have one on the way from Hannants, I've used the Yahu stuff before and really like it. Cheers Dennis
  7. Great write up, I'm looking forward to getting my grubby mitts on one, once Hannants gets them in. Cheers Dennis
  8. Looks like you have landed on your feet, the house looks great so enjoy moulding it to how you want it. Cheers Dennis
  9. I was on the Hannants website checking for the sttus of my Kotare Spitfire order when I strayed and ordered this: I don't normally build Luftwaffe stuff but now and again I will build one as a stress free build, which means I don't have to worry too much about accuracy just get on with the build. Besides I find the desert scheme very attractive. Cheers Dennis
  10. Yes that IP looks very much like a 1960's Revell effort which is a shame as the rest of the kit looks so good, I'll probably use a Yahu IP on mine as they look really good and tend to fit. They do IP's for Hurricane Mk. I, IIB and IIC. Cheers Dennis
  11. Now that really does look the part, nice job. Cheers Dennis
  12. Now that looks good, I always prefer a positive attachment on parts rather than just dabbing glue on. Cheers Dennis
  13. Nice result you navigated around the decal problems nicely but that is why I usually paint markings, that and the fact that I am rubbish at decals. Cheers Dennis
  14. Thanks for posting this, it does look pretty awesome, should get mine soon. Cheers Dennis
  15. Normally I use either Xtracolor or Colourcoats so the finish is already glossy, but the times that I have used Modelmaster paints I did not use a gloss coat before using masks and it went well. These are all masked on Modelmaster enamel (green) and Colourcoats (black). Cheers Dennis
  16. I nearly always use Montex, or Top Notch masks, the Montex have such a huge range of subjects and the Top Notch are good quality as well as the fact that they do custom masks. Top Notch also do camouflage masks. I have used Maketar Kabuki ones but had problems picking the masks out from the sheet as the cuts are so thin that you cannot see the outline, I did try sanded pencil lead to pick them out but it was not very good. The other thing that I do is de tack the masks on my hand or a window to cut down on paint pull off the model. Cheers Dennis
  17. Looking good Peter, I too had a short replacement aileron and had to use some shimming. Cheers Dennis
  18. That looks really great and it is very nice to see one of those built. Cheers Dennis
  19. They sure do, very distinctive. Cheers Dennis
  20. Shame, a 1/32 scale Fulmar and Battle would spring open my wallet so fast. Cheers Dennis
  21. I really feel for you Harv, I've been through it twice and I know it's not any fun, just fill the days and do stuff that you enjoy, I even made out a wish list of all the stuff that I had always wanted or wanted to do. One of those wish list items was to be able to buy a 1/48 Tamiya Lancaster and a 1/32 Matchbox Spitfire 22/24, the latter I had lusted after every morning as it was in the shop window of my local newsagents shop and I used to pass it on my way to work. This restarted my adventures of building scale models which continues to this day. Cheers Dennis
  22. Coming along nicely (as usual). Cheers Dennis
  23. All very useful information, thank you for posting it up, I may have to build an early Mustang one day so all info is appreciated.. Cheers Dennis
