The EE cockpit is beautiful, I just cringe at spending more for the cockpit than I spent on the model!

I've heard that Tamiya is slowing down on 1/32 due to development costs. Expect more 1/48 aircraft in the future (ala their 1/48 Bf 109G-6).

Guys, this is one thread that won't be turned into a pissing match. Many thousands of people have been affected by the fires. If you choose to donate to Paul directly or donate to the Red Cross, etc. you'll be doing a good deed either way. If things go any further South on this one I'll lock it down. Tread carefully.

Grofacking verb 1. To pull a model kit off the shelf, open box and examine contents, daydream about assembling and then return contents to box and return to shelf. Synonyms: Procrastinate, delusion, pipe dream Examples of grofacking in a sentence: "If he spent as much time building models as grofacking he'd be a lot more productive".

Already have a decal set in anticipation of this one. I just hope they fix the cockpit issue that the P-40B had, designed for midgets!

Nice! -
Been plugging away since last weekend and have made a little progress. The cockpit is resin and fairly well detailed. The included color PE IP was the old Eduard with the pebbly texture and the purplish hue which I really didn't like. I carefully brush painted Tamiya German Gray around the details and then hit the bezels with a fine tip Sharpie, blends in much better with the cockpit now. A few Airscale placard decals were added just to spice things up. I dropped the flaps which are molded close so they needed a little detail. Sprue Brothers had some old PE sets for the old Revell D-9 on sale for $3.00 so these provide some quick, easy and cheap detail.

Nice! I'm almost done with mine too. -
Pretty much as big as you want to go, the site will scale them to fit and expand when you click them. And great to see you back my friend!

That's interesting, I could have sworn that I read somewhere that it should have the wider headrest like the A-5. Then again I get lost on my way to the bathroom sometimes!

1/24 Airfix Scale Mosquito build

Amazing work! -
Well, I've decided to go with the JG 1 bird. I've always been a fan of the B&W cowl. I'll just use the A-3 version of the PCM kit and add the antenna mast. I've got some resin control surfaces from a Montex conversion set I may use and some Quickboost guns. I'll also use an old Eduard PE set to detail the landing flaps since I'll cut them out position them deployed.

Put me down for Mr. Surfacer 1500 too. Tamiya Super Fine in the rattle can is great too, but a little pricey compared to Mr. Surfacer and I like the black base to modulate the colors.
