  1. Ideas from it were applied to the M-1. As far as prototype, no. It was a joint US/Germany (west) project. It's goal was to halt the hordes of Soviet tanks that everybody feared that were going to come crashing over the border. Between American and German engineering it got totally out of hand cost wise and was cancelled.
  2. Naw. I'll stick to being an American. I'll be the guy in the P-51 waiting to pick him off while he's trying to land.
  3. EEFFF THAT!!!!! I'LL BE THE LITTLE MUTHER EEFFFER ON THE GROUND PULLING THE CHOCKS AND WAVING HIM BYE-BYE!!!!! THEN AFTER WE FIND THE HOLE IN THE GROUND WHERE HE USE TO BE, I'LL GO TELL HIS OL' LADY HOW SORRY WE ARE FOR HER LOSS! Sitting on a fuel tank. Sheeessh!
  4. Couple of questions. What type of paint (i.e. enamel, aryl, crayons……) Then, same question as far as gloss coat.
  5. Very nice. But tell me, why does the pilot's back rest look like a fuel tank? For that matter, the whole seat!
  6. No sanding needed. Prick each bubble with a needle or new #11. Reapply Micro Sol liberally. Let it sit. I usually do this before hitting the rack. That way it sits unobserved for a few hours. Because, as we all know. Nothing works as we want it while were sitting there watching it.
  7. I am that!
  8. It will. It's Dragon. Looks like and overjunked M-60 to me. No wonder it was cancelled.
  9. Don't know when this is going to happen. You seeing all I've seen or heard.
  10. Mottling is top tier Jeroen. Correct me if I'm wrong. Was the "Saw Tooth" camo both hard and soft edge? When I did Green 1 pictures seemed to show a hard edge.
  11. I usually do my own research as I enjoy it. But 'tis the season to be busy. And if I don't get more Christmas decorations up by the time SWMBO gets home tonight I'll find coal in my stocking instead of model goodies and a new reloader. Anywho. I know that the tail wheel strut on the F4U was lengthened to improve visibility. But……did the main landing gear struts and main wheels stay the same throughout production? I ask because G-Factor and Eduards are marketing upgrades in this area. I am praying to the styrene gods that Tamiya will release the −4 version. And I am prone to purchasing AM stuff before I actually buy the kit and I am wondering if these should go on my Christmas wish list to SWMBO. Any help is appreciated.
  12. Wowser! These are technics that can be carried over to other genres.
  13. Nice job there Jon. Base and pre/post shading looks great.
  14. If you've been a good boy Jason, maybe Mrs. Clause will gett you one.
  15. OK Ed. Thanks for the clarification.
  16. Oh poo!! I'll go back and repost. Did some shuffling around in my Photobucket page.
  17. One of my favorite drinking partners.
  18. Where did you have it shipped to Mike?
  19. That is awesome!! Not up on aircraft markings. But I'll assume due to the uniforms that this takes place in the Golan.
  20. Were they not the easiest tracks you have ever constructed?
  21. Back a couple of years ago, TVMC's co-founder Mike Witous had a funny idea. He had a Trumpeter 1/16 T-34 that he knew he wasn't going to build. So…..he seperated the parts by steps in the instruction book. Made a copy of the instructions for each bag and brought them to club meeting. There Mike announced that each member present would get a bag and an instruction book. We had pre determined that I would get the tracks. Each member, regardless of the building genre would have 60 days to complete their step, then turn them in to us. We had car builders constructing T-34 engines, Sci-Fi guys doing the turrets and figure freaks doing ammo racks. Then we gave all the steps to Col. John Lewis (USMC) for corrections and final assemble. Mike constructed the diorama base. Mike also purchased a 1/16 figure. He gave that to Dutch Gorsha for construction and painting. Dutch is one of those young and gifted builders. All he has to do is read an article on the subject, then do it. This is his first figure, ever. It was a ton of fun and made for some interesting conversations. Here are the pictures from that build. Look at some of the expressions when they hear whats going on.
  22. You could give Rob Trousas a run for his money.
  23. "A Major Award!"
