  1. My feeling is no tall tail Mike... http://mab.forumfree.it/?t=70247302&st=15 Photo half-way down shows distinctive Erla saw-tooth wing camouflage, which tended to soften the longer production continued. If I had to guess I would put her in the 15xxx block, which is 1943 production and too early for tall tail. Best guess... S
  2. Possibly because Eduard's idea of RLM66 for German cockpits is some weird dark blue colour? S
  3. This may be a standard thing in the retail world, but we're talking about the freight world now which is a different kettle of fish. Detecting IP adrresses is fine, but an unnecessary complication in a world of Proxy servers, and even mates shipping stuff to mates abroad because they can get it much cheaper that way. VAT (or GST as it is here in Au/NZ) will only be added as necessary once the final destination and shipping cost is known. Just as an example, there are 650,000 New Zealand-born Australian residents as at 2013, many of whom regularly "cross the ditch" numerous times a year. None of these people who might use an NZ IP address are subject to NZ GST if their shipping destination is an Australian address (and at this point in time no Australian GST is applied to goods sourced from overseas). You need to confirm where it's going before the appropriate Government can mis-appropriate the cream from on top. S
  4. Well, you've been busy Dr.Poggy... What a lovely pair you have there! S
  5. Not as far-fetched as it sounds... I once had a parcel from Sprue Bros (in the USA on one side of the Pacific Ocean) shipped to me here in Australia (on the other side of the Pacific Ocean) via Bahrain! And the final Sydney to Brisbane leg took longer than the rest of the transit combined! S
  6. Yes, very nice... Much cleanup required on the backs of those wheel wells to allow them to attach Jim? S
  7. Yes Tom, Also unable to download from P/B. S
  8. Claes does great work... He has a natural affinity with Luftwaffe camouflages and their method of application, this understanding shows through in the quality of his profiles. I have been using one of his profiles as inspiration for a currently stalled build, although sourced from his website as it's not in any of his books to the best of my knowledge. S
  9. It's sheer madness... It's Vincent Van Gogh, lop-off-your-ear madness. Just mad. S
  10. It's a very good kit... Dimensions are spot-on. Panel lines are recessed and, except for a couple of hatches, all in the right places. The main obstacle to making an A-8 from the kit is the lack of underwing bulges for the outer wing guns, although references can be found for A-8's without these fitted. It would be possible to source these parts from a Hasegawa kit and graft them on. Would there be enough interest for a possible Group build of this kit a little later down the track I wonder? S
  11. Very nice work Arno... I've been waiting for this to appear on the Forum. Was there very much resin to remove from the Eduard parts? S
  12. No more posts from Nigel... Not since he went back to the Forum alluded to in post #53. Perhaps he just missed the abuse? There's a line here somewhere... S
  13. Hmmm... Must be a bald thing? Happy Birthday Big Boss Groover! S
  14. Yes, Barracuda Studios G-6 radiator will work. The Trumpeter kit also lacks the narrow MLG wheels and tyres, standard prop blades, and small kidney bulges for the wing tops. However the separate lower engine cowling may make it easier to remove the bulges, or substitute another from a Trumpy G-6 kit. Most of the other missing features are available through Barracuda, Eagle Editions etc. Both of your choices are early /AS machines, with the early one-piece canopy that had the extra jetison brace fitted at the rear of the cockpit, this will need to be scratched if you wish to include it. The overall black machine has decals available from Pastor John/AIMS, not sure about the Oesau bird though. S
  15. The others are pretty much correct Aaron... The Hasegawa G-10 kits will get you the closest (there is a Has.G-14/AS kit but it's the same contents as the G-10 boxings.) The Revell G-10 represents a specific variant made only by the Erla factory, in which every panel forward of the firewall is noticeably different from all other G-10's. At the moment there is no kit on the 1/32nd market that specifically represents the G-6/AS variant. Most of the parts required are already included in the Hasegawa G-10 kit; such as narrow prop blades, short tail wheel, narrow MLG tyres and small wingtop kidney bulges. The main problems you will encounter; are lack of shallow oil cooler, the forward under chin bulges that will need to be removed, and the rear fuselage upper spine that is wider on the G-10 and K variants (if that bothers you). Let us know your specific bird if you have references, we may be able to help further if we can narrow down a Werk Number range... Steve
  16. That's right George... It's the Trumpeter Me262 on display in these photos.
  17. It's completely ironic if you ask me... Revell's representative advises Modellers that they might as well sell their examples of the competitor's product on eBay because their version will be so fantastic - then uses the competitor's product on the Revell stand at a trade show! S
  18. A Revell Fw190A-8 will be coming I'm sure, The faired-over gun troughs indicate an R2/R7 variant, as does the clear sprue that's missing from the parts layout sequence, possibly to include the main canopy "blinkers". Cut-outs in the wings indicate an R11 is also on the cards too. Whether we will see these in separate releases or in the one box is anyone's guess. I can't see them doing an A-7 or earlier variants, due to the changes required for the wing and fuselage sprues. S
  19. I think it's a valid question, Especially given that the initial announcement was almost a year and a half ago. The "Old Man" marches to his own beat, but a small update on their progress would be interesting to see. S
  20. Wow, that's deep... Not the dish, but the natural affinity you guys share! S
  21. I can't resist... Does that mean she was like the the 1970's Revell Phantom... you could look though the intake and see right out the exhaust? S
  22. Andreas mentioned "Naseweis"... This could mean either bold, or conceited. Revell have certainly made some bold decisions lately, choosing the Erla G-10 and the F-8 Butcher Bird both in 1/32nd scale. But I really hope for Revell's sake that their choices aren't coming from a place of conceit, because the standard of their product isn't as good as it could be yet. Profitability is also an issue for me... no way I'm offloading my $65 Trumpeter '262 for Revell's forthcoming kit, when their Fw190 kit is $99 and their Ju88's are in the $150-$180 range locally. Different if it's something new to the market, but I won't be paying 3 times the price for something I already own. S
  23. Another superb finish Mike, Just love the mottle. All that extra work you've put in has made a difference, she really looks the part. S
  24. Nice detailing Jeroen... Make that Green Card work for a living! S
  25. Andreas seems to do this from time to time... And that's fine. So long as the finished product backs up the rhetoric, and for that I guess we can only wait and see. Personally, I think it's unnecessary to take a pot-shot at the competition, but then again it's phrased a little like my Grandfather might have said it, so maybe it's that German sense of humour coming through? I share your frustration on the subject matter, if not the actual subjects you would prefer to have seen. A G-2, K or F series Bf109 would be easy to accomplish from existing sprues; same for G or R series Ju88's. I am confident that we will see standard A-8 and Sturm/R8 Fw109's somewhere down the pipeline. The others you've quoted don't really suit my tastes, but I can see Revell selling a lot more of them than these announced releases, if simply for the fact that many potential customers would already have the Trumpeter kits in the stash.
