  7. Shelf of doom resident for some time, finally found some decals I liked that weren't NMF. Not much to say about the build, pretty straight forward. Painted exclusively with Tamiya acrylics except for the clear coats (automotive acrylic thinned with gp thinner) and the flat coat which is Testors Dullcoat. Weathered with oils and sharp Derwent coloured pencils. Thanks for looking, Cheers Bevan
  8. Love your use of oils Pete, anymore updates? Cheers Bevan

  18. That's really nice work there. "Crisp" is how I would describe it. Cheers Bevan.
  19. Hi Guy's, Typical Tamiya build.... Paints used were Gunze acrylics with a little Tamiya as well. Oil paints for washes and Derwent artist pencils for chips and scratches. Decals from Kagero's mini top colours number 37. Enjoy....... Thanks for looking Cheers Bevan

  21. Hello modelling friends, Diving into the unknown here, does anybody know of any good books etc to help me not so much build the kit but to help me paint and weather it. Just love the Russian jets, they get nice and dirty just the way I like 'em . Thankyou for any input. Cheers Bevan
  22. Pretty cool Dan. I see you have made some maps for the glove box , nice touch. Could'nt keep my eyes off the wheel hubs and tyres. Awesome. Cheers Bevan
  23. Hi Arno, man what a fantastic looking project! Love the wood effects, the hot metal weathering and all that wireing. Looking forward to more. Cheers Bevan
  24. The legs & doors appear too pale to be 02.... they match the bombrack. Or...... is it a trick of the light? Ah the joys of interpreting b/w photos. The glare of the sun doesn't help matters, but all said does point to 65 being used. I'm miffed, the manufactures were held to strict painting guidlines by the RLM, RLM02 being a primer with anti corrosion and adhesion properties where as 65 was purely a top coat camouflage colour which needed a primer for adhesion. Facinating stuff though!
  25. I guess to be totally correct you need photo reference of the actual aircraft. If im not mistaken, the early war years saw the 109's primed in 02, airframe and all interior areas then the camo on top of that leaving the inners in 02. There is however always exception to the rules. Personally, without difinitive proof I'd go with 02 for the legs and inners and not beat myself up over it. Maybe Steve (Wumm) can shed more light on the subject. Cheers Bevan.
