  1. I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical about the grey engine, but, not now, it is perfect, the contrast looks spot on, and from some of the old school English engines, it looks right on to me.. I LOVE that !
  2. Yeah, me too, it was the building and the design stuff I liked, the dram part was , well.................... shitty............ I was at a Corvette show in Spokane, a number of years ago, and the OCC guys were in town. The Mike's daughter ( the guy's house we are at) was a massage therapist, and was called to give the Old Man a going over, and she talked Mikey into coming out to the house where we were having a BBQ after the car show, and he chatted with everyone, he was the guy who put the show together with Discovery , he isn't as dopey as he makes out to be, he is actually the genius behind a lot of the company's successes......
  3. I can't imagine how much fuel those things burn................
  4. Me too..................
  5. I'm 'Large Scale"................. and I model ................ does that count??
  6. As a heavy equipment operator and semi driver, for 38 years, I have seen lots of stuff with motorcycles, some days when out in the truck or in my Corvette, I saw and see stuff that makes my head shake.... first off I am not a motorcycle driver, as I had the poop scared out of me at a young age when I rode on the back of an old school 750 Norton, and the guy went around and overpass corner so fast the foot pegs were scraping the ground, that cured me.............. so what this is, is just from a guy who has always had 4 wheels under his ass and lots of 10 and 18 under it...........I do think that there should be some training or a 'restriction' ( I Know , like we need more rules) for the crotch rockets and NEW drivers... the power to weight ratio is unheard of on these things, they are an amazing piece of tech, speed and torque, to my untrained eye, for a new 16 or 18 year old kid who wants a bike, I would say this shouldn't be a first choice.................. they accelerate like a bullet, and I do think some times it's way too much get up and go for a new driver... JMHO........... and there are days when some of the younger 'invincible' folks take extremely dangerous and silly chances, like the time I was hauling a large loader with the low bed and had 4 of them pass me on a narrow two lane curvy road, all 4 at the same time............ 2 on my left and 2 on my right...............hhmmm.... and rarely do I ever see one pulled over by a cop for speeding...ever............ Now, that is NOT ALL of them, just the ones that give bike riders a bad name, most of the guys and gals are very respectful, and yeah, always like to go a little faster than the posted speed, and that's ok, and most know the inherent dangers of no real protection once in a pickle..... hats off to the majority..... BUT what I do see is a LOT of car drivers are oblivious to a motor cycle and its occupant(s) ... I was lucky to have had a couple Hog riders at work, and lament on and on, about not being seen and some car drivers taunt them and put them in perilous positions at times..... as I had the opportunity to hear them talk and be part of the conversation, and interested in their rides, I became MUCH more bike aware so to speak..... I see motorcycles on the road before a lot of others.... I look for them, they are sometimes very hard to see, and the LAST thing I want to do is hurt someone due to my lack of observation.... so for me, it isn't the motorcycle that is the 'real' danger ( oh don't get me wrong they are dangerous in the untrained hands) it is MORE the car driver who doesn't see them or screws around on the highway with them.... I will say, however, and again this comes from a guy who is not a motorcycle driver, the ones who act like asses, and don't follow the rules of the road, weave in and out of traffic, pass in stupid places, and with on coming traffic , and drive ridiculous speeds, don't get a lot of sympathy from me. I try my very best to see the guy on the bike, and give him every break I can, if it's clear and they want by, I move over so the can see around me, and if I'm in the BIG truck, I stick my hand out with an open palm to hold on until the on coming cars clear and the give them the thumbs up to go, as I can see further ahead in a semi than they can low on a bike, I always get a 'Ride with the wind, brother' wave and that works for me........ that is the coolest part of it all for me..... So all this is just an observation from a guy who is NOT a biker, but a semi driver and a sports car guy..... I am Bike Aware And NO, I did NOT miss one episode of Orange County Choppers, and have a couple REAL nice beer steins from the shop in my cabinet....
  7. Now THAT'S funny !!! The ingenuity of kids, gotta love it ...........
  8. Damn, that looks good Carl......
  9. Those were the same floats we had on our Western Star plow trucks, the were good skins, but just a trifle noisy on dry pavement, but wore well..... great in the snow ... I LOVE what you are doing here, Ron... she is lookin good !!!
  10. H B D John!!
  11. And that's ONLY HALF !!! my mouth is watering , Carl...............................
  12. That look s like a modification of this.... I know it probably isn't but it sure could be a second cousin....
  13. That's because .............. she knows what side her Brisket is smoked on !
  14. My first ride, was almost exactly like this, different mag wheels though...
  15. "Titty -Pink" .?????????? You made my day Harv !!!
  16. ...............................................................................................
  17. And that is why I try not to speed and keep my eyes on a swivel and ready to pounce on the brakes when driving my Corvette, they have a tendency to slide up the hood and into the cockpit, thrashing legs....
  18. Yes, I agree, it is very interesting, and as someone from Canada, part of the reason I bought my Tahoe, and yes it is big, and that was part of it, as well as the safety of the truck, with luck I will never have to test it as I LOVE the truck, but should something happen, I think or I feel I'm in as safe a unit as I can be in, I have seen these trucks take one Hell of a hit, and most of the time the occupants come out in pretty good shape, where as some others would have not so..... so that, plus I love the looks of them, and it goes like a bullet and has some really cool options, safety was my first concern.... I have seen too many idiots on the roads over the years I worked on them.................
  19. That's GREAT news Steve.............. now ............ back to work ! Seriously, that is great to hear , I am very glad you escaped this thing...........
  20. I hear you there, another thing I have noticed with truck model kits, Ron , is that the Italeri kits only have one set of spring brakes on one axle.... here in BC we have to have spring brakes on all drive axles, usually not on the front steer axle. It is VERY old school to have only one set of spring brakes on a tandem truck.... if you are making brake pots, then spring brakes on all axles except the steer, on the tractor, but ALL axles on the trailers...
  21. On our units we had 1 Electrical Cable, 2 air lines, Supply line ( Blue ) and Service line ( red ) and 1 hydraulic line, there is a two way valve in our hydraulic system, so only ONE Hydraulic line, so four connections total, ( and our Pups had 2 safety chains which is not required for the trains if using a 5th wheel as on the Super B's, but if there is a dolly., then 2 chains, crossed from the reach to the truck, so that it forms a cradle, should the Pintle hitch become compromised, the cross over chains will hold the reach and protect it from digging into the highway and flipping over) the second unit should be the same as the Lead...
  22. That's cool , Ron. I have seen some of those real big excavators on low beds with Jeeps, and dollies, and even the cab of the excavator folded down, that goes especailly for Feller Bunchers and the like... and here in B.C. the guys have to curl the bucket tight to the boom and drop the stick as close to the deck as possible, we also have to tie down the boom and bucket.... seems over kill to me, but that is what CVSE demand.... even thought they can never fall off , being pinned to the stick and main boom....
  23. The working Walking Beams are cool, I suspect they will also work on the tractor as well? Nice job on the wheels , Carl....
  24. Steve, that SUCKS, Mate................. keep us posted to how you are doing...... fingers crossed you don't have this damn virus... Take care Pal...
