  1. Nice !!
  2. I can see why you sounded so enthused by this now! Amazing Jim, just amazing. All that preparation makes the wood-grain "Pop". Who'd have thought Tamiya Flesh?? Only Alex .
  3. Great review Jim ... I really enjoyed reading this one and am grateful for the mention and inclusion of my banner. Thank you.
  4. Martin's hit the nail squarely on the head. I love these oddball, quirky themed outsized kits (as you might know, I'm building the A6M5 Zero in 1:16th plus the Aston Martin DB5 in 1:8th), they display well and some even reflect how things were constructed way back when (as does Z-M's kits further down the line - and the Zero, which is also skeletal but has optional skins included to cover it). So far as the Hasegawa Camel kit is concerned there are two more factors for me; firstly, the wood grain is something I've NEVER attempted before so I'm looking forward to learning - somehow, I think it will be easier for me in the larger scale and I hope to call on Darren's (Coolboxx) guidance when it comes to it. Secondly, I want to add more detail to the engine and fuel system with guidance from the Windsock Datafile which I've ordered and this, again, being new to me should be easier in this scale. When I heard that Aviattic is to launch canvas coverings for the Camel it made it even the more attractive to me. Dependant on how these are formed, I might do it 50%/50% or cover it completely - I'll make that decision once I see what's available and how practicable it is. I sincerely hope that Hasegawa release more of, what I suspect, are scaled down versions of their previous 1:8th wooden "museum" (?) series. I'd be in for more if they do.
  5. That's great news Harv. Sounds like you're back to full flow, so to speak . Looking forward to seeing more from your wonderful P-38 buddy. Keep well.
  6. Woohoo! I'm almost wetting myself in excitement !! I cannot wait for mine to arrive and, thank you for sharing your thoughts Seiran.
  7. Without doubt yours is the best Mossie I've ever see, It's gorgeous and if I don't see it on a Table at Telford, I'll be very sad.
  8. The "art work" for the Hornet on their site is very cool.
  9. Those are two beautiful aircraft - there's always room for anything Wingnut Wings
  10. Very interesting and informative Steve. Thanks to Oraculo for asking the question .. I've learned something new as well.
  11. That looks brilliant Jeroen, the staining on the tail is subtle and superb ... I wish I knew how you did it. Yeah, I can relate; work is driving me nuts at the moment .. trying to keep up with everything on the forum, reading model related stuff everyday, handling models, kits, accessories etc is really tough
  12. WANT WANT WANT !!! (Wonder whether I can stock these .... hmmmmm)
  13. Thank for the insight Dave. The Spit looks just STUNNING !! I love the streaky oil and grime staining .. it's just right ! I know that nearly all aircraft (and pilots in particular) like a completely clear window but, in the middle east where they're operating from sandy bases and encountering sand storms and the like, the glass could become "sandblasted" and appear slightly dull. Not the ultra mirror shine that Future can provide (If that makes sense). With a bit of tidying up, the rear canopy particularly, I actually like the dustiness / scratched / abraded look of the canopy as it is.
  14. Love it Dave .. it's looking fantastic and well worth salvaging it from the "Shelf of Doooom!!" One day, if you've time, I would really like to know how you use that AK Interactive stuff. I'm still quite "green" on my return to modelling and am a little wary of using anything other than the simple and easy Flory Wash. It scares me a little, in as much as, if I c*ck it up, have I ruined all my previous work.
  15. Superb news, congratulations to you both. Excellent.
  16. Welcome to LSM. I certainly like the look of your books, really really interesting - hopefully we'll see more from you.
  17. HAHAHA! How did you know ????
  18. Jamme, He means that the Digital Scheme on the Tornado Matt posted is "sick" ; i.e. cool. Don't worry, I don't "get" the younger palance either. I just think it's groovy ... oh!, and YES! please, I'd definitely want to see your WIP on a Tornado - we need more fast jets around here to counter the Wingnut Wings epidemic which has broken out.
  19. There's a time of day for that ??? Super looking Beau Cees!
  20. I've got an empty cupboard!
  21. BTW Cees, I found this earlier and thought you might find it interesting. I did. The "Flight Log" entry / interview by Wing Commander J.R.D. Braham that's been transcribed is fascinating. http://ww2today.com/14th-june-1943-nightfighter-vs-nightfighter-over-germany
  22. I'm sorry efrick, I can't stop laughing at your Avatar .. "Mrs Slocum" was a classic comedy creation.
  23. Judging by the quality of the "E" Models then I sincerely hope so. They've certainly seem to have taken top spot in 1:32nd since releasing their E's.
